Sure it has been asked before but has a good reason ever been given as to why we cant change skills from the website?

Yeh, because whats the point in playing it offline? Next you'll want to buy/sell stuff offline, then comes offline pvp... where will it end? Here! thats where, you have to log into the game to play the game, sounds fair to me.

i meant offline from the eve-'online' part of the game, not offline from the whole internet.

Maybe we shouldn't be able to talk to each other on the forums either, we should have to log on to communicate with each other. ___________________________________________ ^^^***---All things serve the Beam---***^^^ GDBT is recruiting! |

Actually, with the recent server problems I can see a case for web based skill training. (Assuming it would work with stuck characters, otherwise no point) ______________________________________________

People who work for a living have a lot of good reasons to want this. Me included.
CCP reasons NOT to have it.. good question. =========================

They want to encourage people to actually Log-in.
It's better this way, imo.

If I'm going to log in purely so I can change a skill and then log out, there's no difference except that the current system wastes more time and is a pain in the ass. If I'm going to log in, change a skill, and then do something, I'll log in either way, so again, no difference. The only difference is that sometimes I want to change a skill when I have a computer available but not EVE. Then, it's the difference between changing a skill, or doing nothing at all. I don't see any situation where offline skill changing would keep me from doing something in the game. ___________________________________________ ^^^***---All things serve the Beam---***^^^ GDBT is recruiting! |

Have you ever logged in with the sole intention of changing a skill then immediately logging off, only to find yourself still playing an hour later? Not sure about you personally, but it's happened to me. Many will agree that this is a good thing.
Yes, there are times when I am at work and wish I should change skills from the web site, but I don't think this issue is as cut and dry as it's often made out to be.

I think it would be great. Sometimes I cant log on but I can get to the website.

Surpised no one has brought this up yet.
CCP has officially said multiple times in multiple threads that this will never happen.
As much as I would like it to, it will never happen and TBH I'm kinda glad.
