If anyone has the original copy of EVE and would like to sell it to me I would be glad. I want to use the comp here to change skills on 56k but I really dont want to spend like 2 days downlaoding EVE. Patching will only take like a few hours. Or if anyone knows where I could get a copy online. I skimmed through EBAY but I couldnt find anything. Oh and I wasnt sure where else to put this so I posted here.

You will need to spend a few more days downloading the patches  , go to a internet cafe for 30mins next time you are in town and burn it onto a cd

i have an orginalyt copy that i orded in augest 2003 really i pre ordered befor that it came in a box , the cd was the beta version so hehe ther has been millions of patches afeter that but the box had a poster in it i liked the book, and ya i got 30days free when i started :P, so i got an orginaly copy but unfortinaly im not selling it :P im just braging about it

got an unusued (opened to look at the ancient instruction book) copy of Eve Online (The Second Genesis), the 03 US release version. so old the instruction book shows the original control system. could post the disc alone (cheaper) or whole box if ya like. found a stack of them going for 3 bucks in the software section of Half Priced Books, which be a good place to look, if one is handy.

Am I missing something here? Wouldn't it be easiest for you to download the most current release on whatever computer you usually use (which I assume has broadband?), then burn yourself a CD and install? Or is it just that you don't have a CD burner, hence the problem?

Ok... ill explain my problem. I am currently at my dads where I have a comp that I think is good enough to play EVE but it is running internet on 56k. At my moms is where I am actually playing EVE when im there. I think the computer I use there does have a cd burner... ill have to check when I get back to my moms this weekend. When im not at my moms I just have my moms BF change my skills for me :) if anyone was wondering how I get my skills trained.

I don't know if you can, but the best way would be to download it at a friend's house who has a high speed connection. The patches will take a while on the original because it has to download them all.

Half Price Books is a Dallas Metroplex area chain. And all they've got now are dozens of copies of Neverwinter Nights Gold for $10 each. :p Besides, I've got my original disc from '03, and I'm keeping it. :) So... which HPB are you near?

You should consider letting someone else burning the current version to a CD for ya. Even if you get the original CD the patch is 200MB so it'll still take you forever

well, forget the original disc. got the latest full client version burned off onna lil' Disc, just hit me with mailing address via [email protected]. no spam of course. will check in the morning, so I could mail it off before work.

so any luck in getting a copy other option is internet cafe - use high speed link and CD burner to get the original and subsequent patches - actually a DVD burner would probably be good.

i'm not sure burning the patches to cd's even works,
you can burn em, but try getting the patches to copy from the disk to another computer, it doesn't seem to like it,
i tried 5 different disks copying to 2 different computers, using the "cd to current" patch which is about 200mb
just got stuck and wouldn't work

You do realise CPC sells a reasonably uptodate version of EVE on CD on the online store, and it's only 10 bucks.
It also comes in really purdy packaging which is far superior to the one that was sold ages ago. :D
