Edited by: Dark Shikari on 25/07/2005 23:58:42 It took about 5 updates to the petition.
It took a clearing out of all active petitions to clear the queue.
It took multiple news reports, a thousand GM hours, a hundred more GM hours explaining to the players that they were backlogged to hell, and multiple hotfixes.
It took 2 weeks.
And today, I looked at my wallet--112.5m was missing.
GM Nepthys had withdrawn it, and reimbursed my apoc, complete with all its equip and dark blood loot in its cargo.
Thank you, CCP. Thanks for dealing with everything, and making everything work. I congratulate you. Thank you, thank you all. You've stayed with us, never given up, and every time something broke, you got on it and tried to fix it. *bows* -- Proud member of the [23].

I'm amazed that they actually got this done, with the massive petition load. I was expecting mine to be lost in the flood. -- Proud member of the [23].

So you think he's trying to score points with the support crew with his post? Seriously?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with thanking the GMs for a job well done.
Of course, expecting people to think before they reply with such rot is probably too much to expect.
Yeah, considering I had left my apoc with 500m in dark blood loot for dead, it was a... VERY... pleasant surprise to see it come back. -- Proud member of the [23].

CCP FTW... when you guys make a mistake (and lets face it, you do), you have the courage to admit it and the drive to fix it. Its what sets you apart. ------ I generally assume the following: 1. 95% of Empire Carebears don't get 0.0 PVPers. 2. 95% of 0.0 PVPers don't get Empire Carebears. 3. 100% of Ore Thieves steal just to upset the Miners. |

I'm hoping to get my Corpum fitted Deimos back. Lost it due to bugged havoc missiles hitting me for over 220 dmg despite a ~75% explosive resistance...and never missing either.
Your post gives me hope, that was a very expensive fitted Deimos for agent missions.

I gotta second this response as my dealings with ship loss with the GM crew have been amazing, I filed a petition and within 48 hours my deimos had been reimbursed with the equip that got destroyed and i just fitted the spare from my cargo container which got picked up. All in all totally new besides some modules kinda patch but that doesn't matter really. Since well Unlike the insurance which was stupidy low around 5mill (couldn't be arsed to insure T2) I woulda lost 100mill easily there and then but fear not it was all back in the hangar :D quick response and updates of progress with emails and was astonished at the speed...filled out the response form with lots of compliments

I'm gonna hold off on the "atta boy"s, considering this admission was long overdue. The player base has been well aware of their latest catastrophe for a while now. I had more of a "glad you could join us" reaction myself. |

I disagree with the favorable opinion of the gm's in general.

I've never had a problem with the GMs. Politeness goes a long way when it comes to dealing with other people.
Now, you people do all realise that it's against rules to discuss GM decisions and that this thread is going to be locked, don't you?

every ship i've ever petitioned the loss of has been reimbursed. Granted i rarely petition it and only do so if i am %100 sure its a bug. Why i always laugh when ppl say they died to a bug and CCP did nothing, usually means they were nubs got killed and made up an excuse ---------------

Have thankfully had very few problems in game but, on the 3 occaisions where I did have to petition, the GM's were superb.
I have to admit to being very very pleasently suprised :)

I have found the decision makers in the petition process to be arrogant, rude and unhelpful - with the exception of one senior GM.
I will probably never petition a ship loss again as I have zero faith in the system or the people who operate said system.
