Here is something very strange, and I can't explain :
Sometimes while I play Eve (in windowed mode), I have WinMX running in the backward, to download (legal!) stuff.
When Eve is active, I notice that the download rate I have with WinMX is boosted a terrific way : For instance if I download something at an average rate of 15 Kbps, having Eve active is boosting the DL rate at 150 or 200 Kbps !
The strange thing is that if I click on any non-Eve window to make it active, I have the DL rate dropping again at 15 Kbps. And if I click on Eve window to make it active again, I see the DL rate climbing again at 150 or 200 Kbps...
Anyone has an idea of what is happening ?

My only guess is that the program tracks how long you have been downloading and how much you have downloaded thus giving you your download rate. When you click out of that it starts miscalculating your download rate because your processor is now focusing on Eve? I'm definately no computer expert but from my own experience this is the only explanation I could come up with.

That's what I figured first, indeed : either the shown DL rate was false or it was just adding the Eve traffic to the WinMX traffic. However, looking it more carefuly, I must admit there's nothing false in the crazy DL rate I obtain when an Eve window is active : I REALLY have my files downloading at 200 Ko/s instead of 20... which is in theory possible since I have a 2 Mbps cable link. It seems that WinMX alone is not capable to use the available bandwith for some reason, and that Eve is solving the problem for some other crazy reason...
Conclusion : I need Eve to download movies... lol

Nay, I'm not found of commercial movies. I prefer amateur ones... ;-) those are free of copyright and free to dowload !
