I mean, we all pay for this game, to be entertained and to have a jolly good time basically, I just wonder why there is such a need to call names, flame, whine, ***** and moan on the forums, these forums are provided for us for information and generally communicate out of game. Is it not possible to just all be friendly towards one another? Sure we have in-game wars and such, this is my point, IN (GAME) a game is entertainment, why do we sink to such levels as calling one another ridiculous names, I expect this of school-children and 13 year olds. This is a general request to our entire community, please leave out the rubbish and to coin a phrase "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all". They leave cause they feel its not fun. Therefore this game without levels or status means nothing. Your name or your corporation or Alliances means nothing. Now alot of the time they bring it apon themselves. But to form an alliance and pull people together to build something in this game takes a very large amount of time, effort, and outright love... Even more so in EVE then in most other games. Nobody likes to see all they worked for be totally destroyed no matter who is doing the destroying.. For many in this game the fun is the building not the destroying. We're all guilty of is to one degree or another. I enjoy pvp as much as the next, but all too often some corporations/individuals take this to the extream. And these give the rest of the decent people a bad name. Which is why I always have respect for those who *** down on smack talking and only go after those who will also have fun in the fighting. Maybe I'm a bit too open minded but I've talked to alot of people who's entire gaming fun have been destroyed simply because of the fact they they weren't uber pvpers with 10m SP into fighting skills. And quite frankly I never thought it was fair to them.. :( And add the fact that it's a pride thing, and add that it's hardly EVER your own personal skill that can change the outcome of a war. You feel helpless, annoyed, and basically *ed off :) omg.. it censored snip*!!! :) Yes it did! The feeling of helplessness on the battlefield seems to prompt quite a bit of smacktalk on the forums and in local. Those who get beatdown generally call us griefers while those that manage to get away pound their chest as if their God. That's what makes this game and these forums great. CCP might have made the game, but each one of us shapes it, and molds it. We might love/hate each other here, but it's a game, and we are playing a person in the game. Im sure all the corps, alliances, mercs hating on FE (alliance and old corp) in game and trying to wipe them from the map in game, could easily sit down afterwards, out of game, and put back a few cold ones at the local bar/pub, whatever you want to call and all be buddies. Perhaps others think that having fun is playing the market part of this game, or running missions is the way they have fun, maybe seeing how well they can run an industrial operation a carckerjack of a good time. I mean, we all pay for this game, to be entertained and to have a jolly good time basically, I just wonder why there is such a need to call names, flame, whine, ***** and moan on the forums, these forums are provided for us for information and generally communicate out of game. Is it not possible to just all be friendly towards one another? Sure we have in-game wars and such, this is my point, IN (GAME) a game is entertainment, why do we sink to such levels as calling one another ridiculous names, I expect this of school-children and 13 year olds. This is a general request to our entire community, please leave out the rubbish and to coin a phrase "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all".
