Very fine 280mm howitzer, details are here
Quick summary, easier to fit then Tech2 280mm howitzer, less skills required, same damage and better ROF then Tech2 280mm howitzer.

Just one thing to mention about faction vs T2, you do realise the T2 is still better because it gets the bonus from the spec skill and the other weapons don't get it so a T2 280 is still much stronger than a faction/named :)

True enough, but you don't need extreme specialist skills for faction guns. Personally, I have specialised in projectiles but if I wanted to fly a ship with blasters I'd want the faction ones as I do not have the skills for the T2 guns.

Not really. At S Arty Spec 3, the DPS is about the same. So t2 is about 4% better dmg-wise at arty spec 5.
Edit. Oh, and the better fitting req's are lovely :)
