i'd love to play in that... but we would need to find a place where we can setup private tables. Tournament style NL Holdem?

Edited by: Ryles on 01/08/2005 12:32:11 I think youĈd either need separate tables for new/old players or different nightsànoob/vets night etc Otherwise the richer players would just bully the people playing to a budget.
As a new-ish player IĈd happily put up 5mil per game.
This has been mentioned a few times before though and IĈve never actually seen anything come from it.
IĈve tried renting private tables using PartyPoker.com and it doesnĈt seem to work so if anybody knows of any Casino type websites that have this facility available please make a post!
Even if you have to pay real money to rent the tables, somebody could do so and then just charge a small ISK fee to players wanting to participate.

have a set buy in so people cant bully /w money, also we need a reliable person (not me) to hold on to the isk while we play, otherwise some people might not play up. I know I wouldnt trust soren, mister "I thought your crow could take two torps "

If only I had 10 million isk...
I play a lot of real money hold 'em tournaments, so I thought I'd offer some advice on the structure. The easiest way to do it, and to ensure incentive for people to come back for more, is to use a tournament-style payout. Figure out how many places you want to pay depending on how many people you have show up. For a 10 person game, you'd probably only want to pay the people who place first through fourth or fifth. First place would take the biggest chunk, usually around 50% in a 10 person game, and then the percentages would go down accordingly from there.
That way you don't have one or two people out of ten walking away with all the money, a situation that doesn't exactly inspire people to pony up for another game. You also don't have to worry about figuring out how much $1 in chips is worth in isk, you just play until everybody but one person is eliminated and then pay out according to how they placed.
So, uhh, somebody wanna loan me 9 mil? ;) <a href="http://www.sloganizer.net/en/" target="_blank" title="Sloganizer - the slogan generator"><img src="http://www.sloganizer.net/en/style7,Theoditus.png" border="0" alt="generated by sloganizer.n |

Ok I'm willing to organize this.
platform: www.pokerroom.com
easy download, easy update, and we can set up private tables.
Basically, list here if you want to sign up, we'll have 3 tables of 10, so thirty peeps max.
You start off with 1000 bucks play money in your account, so you'll join the private table and buy in with your 1000 bucks. Once you're done, you leave the table. once each table is down to 3, we'll go final table of 9.
I say buy-in of 5m a pop. If we get 30 peeps to play, that's 150m isk pot.
1st pays 50%, 2nd pays 25%, 3rd pays 12%, 4th pays 8% and 5th pays 5%.
Top 5 get paid basically. You come in 5th, you get 6.25m, you make 25% isk.
Sounds reasonable, we just have to be coordinated.
We'll also need a TS server for this, but we have a week and a half to figure it out.
I think we can make it work.

We use to play texus alot for ISK in our old corp...
Try out www.holdempoker.com/co.uk..
It has a nice interface and is easy to setup....
Yyou should open a ingame channel called poker so that you can get some little games going often...
Just an idea..
