Don't know I switched from DSL to cable, didn't change anything. Maybe every ISP in Ohio blows or it's server side, who knows. -á

Have you actually done any form of diagnostics yourself before posting a randomly vague comment on the forum?
Does your router drop? Have you tried running a continuous ping test to somewhere on the net while this happens? |

If you're computer illiterate, dont rage unfairly when you have no idea where the problem is
Open a command window, (Win XP = Start ->Run-> type "cmd" -> hit enter, Win 7 = Start-> Search Programs & Files -> type "cmd" -> hit enter.
ping www.google.com -t
you will get back something like ...
Reply from 74.125.237.84: bytes=32 time=130ms TTL=56 <-this is good Reply from 74.125.237.84: bytes=32 time=998ms TTL=56 <-this is not good (time = 998ms its slow) Request timed out. <- your internet died, its nothing to do with Eve Reply from 74.125.237.84: bytes=32 time=2458ms TTL=56 <- this is terrible (time=2458ms means your internet is crawling)
leave this window running while you play eve
when your eve game lags or your connection drops, immediately switch back to the CMD window and check your ping times. "Request timed Out" means your internet died and the Eve Server is not the issue. Most likely your router did in fact drop briefly but you weren't watching or it didnt tell you. Check the router logs if you know how. If your router dropped the WAN connection then you need to chase your ISP. When you changed from DSL to cable, did you also change your service provider ? Do you own the router or was it supplied by your ISP ? If your ISP owns it, get them to change it. Your ISP is the best person to help you.
You can automate ping testing with http://www.pingplotter.com/download.html |

Here is a bit of advice from a GM in another similar thread. I have been having similar issues and this will allow them to assist you further.
Here are the instructions on how to run the pingplotter test.
1) Download the program from Pingplotter website and run the installer once you've downloaded it. 2) Once the program has been installed, run the program 3) When the program has started, in the top left corner you can find a field called 'Address to trace', in this field type: 87.237.38.200 4) At the bottom left corner change the # of time to trace to Unlimited, and the Trace Interval to 2.5 seconds. 5) Click on the 'Trace' button at the bottom left corner. 6) Now run the EVE client and login. Play normally until you lose connection. 7) If you lose connection note down the time you lost connection (please note down both your local time and the EVE Time). 8) Now save the pingplotter files by going to the menu File -> Save sample set... 9) Once the file has been saved, file the petition via the website and attach the pingplotter file and include the times when you lost connection.
