I've yet to see any faction battleships being put to use in pracy in low sec. I've seen some carebears doing their missions in high sec, that's all in terms of normal play.
Then again, I have to give props to DNA who dare fly their faction battleships in strikeforces through 0.0.
It's a fearsome sight, even at scanner-range.
How long do you guys think it'll take untill these ships will be affordable for ye' old pirate?
I'd personally not use them in low sec systems just yet. Too expensive where there's high risks of getting ganked.
I've seen BPC's for these ships going at 999mill, a couple of months ago they were 5billions. How much farther down will these prices go?
Appearently from what I've heard they spawn VERY often in the 8/10 - 10/10 complexes. Are the alliance hoarding them? I do not know yet cause I've not been to these complexes. But one thing is sure, I do not believe they will be able to keep the price at 1bill for much longer, not with this amount of BPC's reaching empire.
Hopefully they'll still be worth a little something and be nice ransom targets when more people dare to use them in low sec.

If I ever had one, I would use it in my solo piracy actions. Wouldn't care if I lost it either. I'm hoping to get one in the future but if anyone wants to donate a BPC feel free :)

They drop in complexes as low as 6/10 too, that could be a reason why there's so many of them available these days.

I think the optimal price for them should be arond 400 to 500m for a bpc. That means 500 to 600m if you want to build one. Probably even a bit less could be healthier - because if you find a BPC at the moment it means you'll be rich in an instant. It would also promote their use more often.
On another note, I bet CCP already noticed, there seems to be a slight imbalance between the numbers of the ships. Gurista Rattlesnakes seem to be much more rare than for instance Machariels - but I might be wrong on that. I imagine the reason for this is that there are significantly less Gurista complexes or Commander spawns dropping them - or simply not enough players in the regions to find these spawns.

Havent really looked at the stats tbh.
But perhaps the 'better' faction bs are being kept by the people who find them (or sold to corp mates),
and its only the less powerful faction bs, that people dont think are worth the isk, are being sold off?

Edited by: Ange1 on 29/07/2005 14:12:57 My corpmate uses his Caldari Navy Ravens for pirating and 0.0 ops trust me
We also destroyed a Machariel the other day in 0.0, though he was NPC'ing with it. Very nice ship though. ------------------------- CEO of The Establishment |

2 Vigilant, 1 Succubus, 1 Daredevil, 4 Machariel, 2 Bhaalgorn, 1 Navy Megathron, 1 Navy Issue Apoc in our fleet at the moment, expect a movie within a few weeks of Faction ship action.

Hmm, your corpmates said TRS had looted 3 Bhaalgorn copies in a very short time down in Delve, and that was some days ago. Sold some to buy others? And yea, I've seen one of your Vigilants in action.
Also seen a romanian guy in a Navy Raven around Venal. With 'only' a blackbird and an interceptor supporting him. And I guess Aneu takes out his Mach sometimes, though with a cap BPO you can afford to loose some.

IMPERIAL APOC??? Or Navy Apoc? If he pirate in an Imperial he sure have balls since that's a 'unique' ship. Max 4 Imperial Apocs in the game...

Quite right, but no, none of our ppl sold their Bhaalgorn BPCs, 1 still has his, 2 are made and in the fleet. The other faction ships were just bought, cuz we got a lot of rich bastards in corp

Edited by: Embattle on 29/07/2005 18:51:18 I've been on the receiving end of a nightmare, also heard that the same person has lost one before.
To me this action of increasing the number of BPCs was an easy way to create more player ships witout actually having to design new ones....thus I expect them to drop to a base price of 500mill for some of the more common ones.

500m or less would be wonderful. They'd see more use in PvP then while still being rare and a big isk sink for the pilots using them.

You know, you don't exactly get an advantage in pvp with faction battleships unless you actually find someone to engage. That doesn't come from bragging that you have one ;)
Well, it might.. if you like facing a gank squad :O _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning.

That was Nilk actually. And yes they are quite large, so large infact I think he needs to see a doctor
But the fact remains that most faction ships will be collected by those with lots of isk and no inclination to pvp, we just like to use them as they were intended. -

It was filmed, but from the perspective of one of the interceptors rather than a battleship. In any case it will gain a place in the next video that we release
