I rememebr I used to be able to do a gallente to start with frig 3 or 4. I'm trying to make a hauling characters. Which career path/race/whatever to do this?

Military academy/Operations/command/captians training/ Is the route for Frigate L4 space command L2 for Gallante, Amarr, Caldari, Minmitar would get Frigate L4 space command L3 hope this helps :)

I never understood why you get frig 4 if you go command, but only frig 3 if u go pilot.

If you go pilot you can get weapon skills as well, I don't think you can if you go command.

I think maybe they nerfed it. I tried command or w/e for gallente, but it only started with frig 3., No big deal I guess.

It has to be command -> captain training, not command -> leadership or whatever else.

I remember that from a while back, but on this client or whatever it only lets me pick one career and then it creates the character. Very odd indeed!

Select the 'custom' career.

Select the 'custom' career.
Custom only allows you to choose attribute point adjustments. It doesn't allow you to choose any career paths, unless I have done something wrong on the test toon I just made the other day. Also, if you don't go custom, you only get one career choice (fighter, miner, etc.) and then BAM, character created. No warnings or anything to allow you to preview stats or anything. I think that is kinda lame.

I guess you did something wrong then. It's always allowed you to choose both attribute points and career path AFAIK.

You're wrong, custom gives you like 10 steps to creater your character with.

Well, I just recall that I can only choose 1 career and was only able to get frig 3. Not sure, but I think things have changed.
