Ok, had to start a new topic as the old one has gotten off topic. I finally found something to kill me :). Today i was going toward a gate and 20 (yes 20) hostile af/ceptors/frigs jumped in on me. I knew I only had one option. I went to the gate and sat there waiting for them to all go aggro on me. They all went aggro on me and I tanked em for a bit then jumped out of system and kept on my merry way. Kind of nice eh :)
I then (hours later) decided to be the warp in point on a hostile fleet. The fleet: 1 gankageddon, 2 scorps, 2 ceptors. I warped on top of them (15km from the scorps and 18km from the geddon). I was imediately scrambeled and webbed by the ceptors. I started killing the crow, while ALL the BS drones (24 heavy drones) approached me for attack. Took the crow into hull (only 10% left) then BAM target jammed. At this point I was being hit by the gankageddon and both scorps also. It still took all this to break the tank. From time of enguagement to time of ship go boom....71sec. HAHAHAHA If I wasn't target jamed, I could have EASILLY killed both ceptors and warped away. With all that hitting me!!! Oh well....was a VERY fun fight.

seems like a VERY exiting story but did you really start counting seconds from the first shot to when you died? These things tend to get exagerated you know :D

Just look at your logs, look from the time you were first shot till the time you boarded your pod :).
Anyhow setup was:
High: 4 Dual Light Beam II Med: Cold Gas Arc Blah blah blah 1mn ab Low: Small Armor Rep II, 1 n-type energized thermic membrane, 1 energized adaptive nano, 1 400mm Titanium, 1 standard MAPC
I didn't have an active thermal hardener around (that would have fit) or a Rolled Tungston. Both of those would have made this even better. But I flew into battle with 1820 armor, 66, 83, 72, 60 (resists).

Here's how I know how long the battle was:
[ 2005.07.30 00:05:02 ] (combat) <color=0xffbbbb00>Your Dual Light Beam Laser II hits zwaver --- Crow, doing 26.1 damage. [ 2005.07.30 00:06:23 ] (notify) Ship is out of control
And lookie....my math was wrong....it's 81sec from initial contact till time I was killed. And Balrog can confirm this, cause he's hitting me too:
[ 2005.07.30 00:05:56 ] (combat) <color=0xffbb6600>Cataclysm Cruise Missile I belonging to balrog hits you, doing 17.5 damage.

So your ideal set up would be:
4 t2 Dual lights 1 named ab 1x small aromor repairer 2 1x thermal hardener 1x energized adaptive nano 1x MAPC 1x 400mm Rolled Tungsten Aromr Plate
Or am I wrong? I think you need to make a copendium of plate set ups for afs.

If you're feeling (completely) insanely rich:
4 True Sansha Dual Light Pulse Laser Corpii C-Type Small Nosferatu
Gistii A-Type 1MN Afterburner
Corpii A-Type Small Armor Repairer Cormack's Modified Armor Thermic Hardner Ahrehmen's Modified Energized Reflective/Magnetic Membrane 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates
Would fit.
Has 77.8% EM, 79.19% Kinetic, 80% Explosive, 76.6% Thermal, and repairs 117 armour every 4.8 seconds (with level 4 skill).
Needs Hardwiring - Zainou 'Gnome' KZA2000 and Adv Weapon Upgrades at 4.
Mental Note: Don't get bored again.

Figured I'd bump this topic as this setup is going to be boosted with the new patch, %25 more armor, better resists (due to the new skills for passive hardening modules, adaptive nano) and the new stacking pentalty will allow even more therm resist. While you get a nerf on the plate for the agility and speed, which isn't bad.

I have NEVER had a retribution poped. When you die it is to BS while getting scrambled by tacklers. If you had just run into BS you could have killed the drones and then started attacking them. They probably after 5 minutes have a gank ship warp in at long range and force you to warp out. But yah the low sig radius and uber high res on retribtion make it hard to kill. this is why its nerfed on med slots so it can't solo.

I find the Retribution breaks even like at 87 dps on the single Em hardner 80% or with the base 80% explosive resists with a techII rep. 2-4 active hardners can make a world of difference of course but you sacrifice your damage back to ~100dps with dlps.
I am seriously going to try putting a lone shield repairer in the mids and stacking the lows with damage mods.
The Wolf gets a mindbending break even rate of 233dps absorption on EM damage with a techII rep and full repairer skills. Megapulses weep.
I of course have a magic bubble around my ship that automatically triples the incoming damage compared to everyone else. That and I probably do everything except what most needs to be done at the key moment.
Luckily, my capacitor is very forgiving when I simply forget to turn off the repairer. (17.544 dps absorption/s)
