I have 2 questions regarding the Prod eff skill. 1st one is: Does it work at all? I have tried and laborated with some different blueprints, both researched and unresearched and got the same result, no effect. It does simply not work for me :/
Number2: How will the math be done for this skill, will it be some standard lvl3 = 12% less mineral needs or will it be the RPN variant who gives 12,4864% at lvl3 (2nd lvl ads on to first lvl etc...).
Thats it for now! ----------------------------

There have been other threads which speak well to the matter.
Keep in mind for the calculation of Production Efficiency. For calculations, ensure to markup the mineral requirements on the blueprint by 25% for a base number. Then compare that number to actual minerals (look at the job while in process). Also, it seems for the final numbers the remainders are dropped, not rounded.

like i have said in a previous post about this skill. it is working backwards for me. its costing me more minrals to build every thing. ------------------------------------------------ nomad, vagabond, call me what you will. |

Prodction efficiency is working. Here's how it works.
There is a 25% waste in production. That is why it cost more minerals to produce stuff, that stated on the BP.
With production efficiency you can reduce that waste by 4% pr lvl, 20% total.
For each mineral on the BP, the production cost can be calculated as
mineral use = BP mineral * (1.25 - (prod. eff. lvl*0.05))

For those that might be confused by the above formulas, keep in mind that the PE skill is a reduction off of the increased numbers.
0.8*1.25 = 1. Essentially, a 4% reduction off of the increased numbers is equal to subtracting 5% from the penalty on the original numbers. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

Has anyone verified that blueprint and manufacturing cost calculator recently?

ME research?
Reduces the waste factor of a BP.
Waste Factor = Orig WF/(1+mineral level)
Original WF can be 0.1 (10%) or 0.05 (5%) depending on the BP.
To find the base minerals of a BP, subtract the wasted minerals from the required amount. (Base mineral amounts are not displayed, just the wastage and the total)
After this, to figure out effects of min research, figure out your new waste factor from the above formula.
Take the base minerals you found before, multiply by (1 + waste factor). Take this number, and multiply by 1.25. Take 4% per level off of this increased number for PE. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

The tables he has listed on the site seem correct. The one glaring problem, is h is basing 'cost' on NPC pricing. With Zyd and Meg going for so far above NPC price, that part is far short of the actual cost to build large items, like battlships.
