lo,
My friend (idiot) attacked another player in 0.5 space while i was getting drinks. It was on my char in my 2 day old geddon and i managed to log out after coming back in before police arrived. I was just wondering if the aggression timer goes down while you logged out? If not i will hate my friend forever after losing my geddon which i could barely afford at the time.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I believe you are going to log on to find yourself in a pod. Logging of (afaik) does not save you from concord in 0.5 or higher space. You could try petitioning it, dunno what response you would get tho.

Its an exploit to aggress and not lose your ship.
If you warp off and log you can save it but then see above.

just FYI
if you attack another player in secure space, an hes not a war target, or an event actor or nothing, concord MUST kill your ship... to escapse this is bannable (ever since a buch of *******s exploited game mechanics to sit in empire space and shoot people at a gate w/o dying themselves)
so erm, the forums realy arnt the place to talk aobut it, cause a GM will see it, or a forum mod will see it and tell a GM

Not much point petitioning because I doubt they will believe it was my fried, butI'm not stupid enough to attack someone that isn't an enemy in high sec space.

Sharing your account with someone else = breaks Eula.

I wasn't sharing account, he was in the room playing my xbox and I went to get drinks and when i came back he had locked and fired on a megathron mining in Pulin. So I wasn't sharing account

I would need to check to make sure, but I remember reading something that said it is a bannable if you share your account information with others.
Of course if he already was online by the time "his friend" took over control that might be a different case.

solution:
Duct tape him to a chair. Make him mine every penny of lost ship/module prices back.
Make sure to gag him too so the neighbours arent disturbed. Gamers dont need to speak while mining.

Sorry your friend has ADD, but you're going to log in and be in a pod. Once you attack in empire, the 15 minute timer starts. Pretty sure your ship doesn't disappear if you log out during that timer.

Im wondering how the heck you'd have had time shutdown the client if you were currently off fetching a drink. Concord usually wtf pwns you instantly in high-sec.

I got back just about 5 seconds after he'd done it, why i left it with him alone in a belt that had player miners I don't know. Gotta blame myself for that part of the stupidity. At least he said it was only a few seconds and it was 0.5 space so concorde take longer to come don't they? Thank god he activated the mega pulse instead of tach otherwise i would have inflicted damage.

Are you alowed to attack concord in high sec space and escape without destruction or is that an exploit too?
no player would have been hurt and concord dont drop loot, much to my anoyence, so is it NO HARM NO FOUL?

Wierd, just logged in, not in pod and no concord ships nearby. Is it maybe because the megapulse didn't hit from 80 km?

No its because he logged out before they spawned.

the best thing for you to do right now would be to edit all your posts and 'remove' any 'evidence' of 'a person similar to you shooting at a nonwar target in highsec and living' or 'anything similar'
(or maby CCP saw this thread and decided to have a laugh by respawning yr BS and full kit hahahaha)

blahh isnt there like a way you could keep warping until the timer runs out? I mean concord cant insta-warp to you right? so couldnt you outrun concord for 15minutes by continually warping from planet to planet or sumthing? I've always wondered if this could work

Not in a BS, and it would be an exploit anyway. If CONCORD come for you in 0.5 and higher you have to lose your ship. End of story.

yes, they DO instawarp!
cheating bastards spawn 20km~ from wherever yr gona come outa warp
( tested it with a alt, i managed to warp about 10 times in a newbship before they got it )

Try on test server, 15 BS's or so and took on CONCORD, we all lasted about 10 mins. I was the first to die as I was in a boosting scorp. With the advent of taggnig you might be able to focus fire on the CONCORD battleships and take them out slowly, but in the end, you will still die.

Well it is per definition an exploit to survive concord, and also illegal to run into stuff that doesnt work as intended in EVE. Pretty good rules.

Yes, that's fine too.
The GM's have no interest in what NPC's you kill.
The only time you have to die to concord is when they attack you because you agressed another player.
Other than that they are fair game (unless you are shooting them to protect a player that should die to them).
