I was recently trying screen resolutions in game, and at some point when i must be selected bigger resolution then my monitor can support, it showed me monitor message - 'out of range'.
So now i cant even enter game, since its stuck at that resolution.
Can anyone help me? Is there any way to change resolution outside game?
Thanks. -=-

Yeah, there was some .ini file somewhere in the EVE folder, config or something. If need be, use 'search inside files' option built in Windows.

I checked my pref.ini file
and I play also on 1024*786 reso but in window mode.
anyway here is what it says in mine:
desktopHeight=768 desktopWidth=1024
the rest doesn't apply I think. Worth a shot anyway

yes, same as mine atm, but i still get 'out of range' title.....
Maybe try to delete this file? It wont do any harm on game? Is it allowed even?

You can safely delete the entire contents of the "Cache" folder if you feel like it without fear.
Though I would probably suggest trying to be more selective since you'd lost things like bookmark and buddy folders that way. . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

Well I would make a backup of the prefs.ini file , the settings folder, and the browser folder.
Then I would delete the entire cache. And see what happens next. All should be reset to the original settings.

ok, problem got fixed after i deleted contents of cache folder.
however after copying backed up Settings, Broswer and Pref.ini, problem occured again.
I think it got something to do with Settings folder? If i delete it, wont my bookmarks and other things loose their folders? -=-

Edited by: Nukleanis on 31/07/2005 09:58:02 Do this
EDIT: It'll kill all your display preferences including colours, window sizes, positions, etc, but it'll clear your problem right up. Also, can we sticky a guide to fixing this problem, or at the very least, have a countdown in the next patch that automatically switches back to a previous resolution if you can't confirm that the change went OK?

Sorry again for double post.
I did following. Copyed those files you told from my new Settigs folder to old one(to keep my bm-folders), and then copyed my old Settigs folder to cache with those new files that have reseted settings. So i kept my bm-folders and all fine, had to re-set all my options again, but now its all ok.
Wrote petition ingame before that, so now its got closed since its even now belongs to 'stuck' category. So if petition closed by GM its ok also? It wont be proceeded? Also, from doing waht i did above, i wont encouter any game problems?
Thanks for help. -=-
