I have this ****ty problem with startup text dont show, login menu is all messed up. i had those problems for over 14 days now, and ccp is just ignoring the problem
only solution to this, is to install the very old 3.0catalyst drivers, but they make my 9700 pro card run like an old lady, in a 100 % unacceptable way.
Im sorry if i miss the solution here in the forums, but if not, ccp, i would be very pleased if you fixed that ati problem soon.

Ole Nipper, have you solved that problem? Tweaking settings as described in the FAQ and every other way I can think of did nothing except randomly change text from blurry to jagged, both unreadable. Attempting to access the graphics menu crashes me out. ATI 7200 w\ Cat 3.4.

FWIW I use Cat 3.4 on a Radeon 9700 Pro without any significant gfx problems ( there is a Z buffer problem but...)

I wonder if CCP will actually work on this problem because there are a large amount of graphics users out there who are turning to ATI for their graphic needs.
nVidia being the "Big Bad" of the graphics industry has always had the luxery of being able to charge what they want, however now a major competitor has arrived on the seen and nVidia and ATI are fighting for market share.
Game developers will have to stay aloof bigtime in order to develop games which are compatible under both systems or they will be the ones who will lose the market share because they cannot develop compatible software.
Just my thoughts, let me know how the ATI problem is working out cause my new machine is being built around the 9800 Pro.
