When Retribution was released, I started to have a Graphic bug as follows.
When I start game, there is major graphic corruption, colours mostly, shapes are roughtly correct.
I switch from FullScreen to Fixed Window and hit "Apply" and all fixed.
Switch back and usually it is all good, sometimes it happens again and I need to use fixed window again.
I Run an FX8350 on Crosshair V motherboard with a pair of Sapphire "Toxic" HD5850s
Everything worked very well until the expansion.
Yes, all my drivers are up to date, no i have no waleware, and I all my other 3D applications run flawlessly as EVE used to.
Any helpful Ideas? ive cleared cache, deleted EVE entirely, stripped my OS down and reloaded all video and interface drivers ....

Hey I checked this out using a pair of 5770s, we don't have a matching pair of 5850s in house. I was unable to reproduce this.
Please can you let us know graphical preset or other graphical settings you start the client with?

Sure. 1900x1080 Preset to max quality. Everything on High, no AA, HDR yes.
If i tab out, when I come back, i have to reset the fullscreen vs fixed screen.
My next step is to reformat my primary SSD, clean over wipe, full re-installation of Win7 64bit Pro, re-patch OS, then load device drivers, Cat 12.8 ( old but stable) and fresh reinstall of EVE
Frankly, I believe the problem is related to Passport 4.0 and Win7 64bit's horrible history of USB conflicts and ATI's application profiles.
im going to go back to the drivers and configuration that last worked, if the problem is still there, its yourside, if not, we know it was mine. |

I too have this identical problem,
5870's Crossfire'd,
Settings identical, problem is identical, fullscreen massive colour issues slight flashes of screen ETC.
It has to be an issue with the crossfire as when you run window mode it automatical selects a single card to run the program IE primary card,
ive recently "nuked" my pc and i am now having this problem again, i must say i fixed this last time due to the fact i couldnt activate crossfire in my catalyst window, i then searched to fix that problem and it made me change 2 settings in the registery and that also fixed my problem in eve ,
i will dig this website out tomorrow evening test it and get back to you with results |

Hey we just nabbed a 5870 from a GM's machine! turns out I still can't reproduce this with a single 5870 using the information you provided. I'll have a go at trying to find another. CCP Konflikt Technical Software Quality Analyst Team Trilambda |

Just like to jump in here and say that I am running two 7950s in Crossfire with the latest Catalyst 13.1 I was unable to run EvE stable. I'm currently using the 13.2 beta drivers and all is perfect.
I suggest you give them a try. |

Yep same here, a pair of Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 in crossfire Graphic glitches everywhere. Disabling crossfire in eve seems to fix the problem. Nothing like that happens in other games |

Same problem here - settings are 1920x1200 for fullscreen (tried x1080, shrank screen and didn't fix). I have two 6850's in Crossfire. Windows 7 64, numerous other games (online and solo) which work fine - in fact, only reason I updated drivers was because WoW (of all things) scolded me for not having latest.
Recently updated drivers (since latest patch) - using old version, every time I quit game I got a system message saying graphics drivers quit working, then recovered - screen would go off, then come back on. |

Are you all running the beta drivers or stable drivers?
Does running the latest 13.1 Drivers change anything? CCP Konflikt Technical Software Quality Analyst Team Trilambda |

Reporting the same problems here.
Running dual 7850s in CrossFire, getting screen flicker and massive discolorations and artifacts.
When I first start up EVE, I get a message stating that the graphic driver has stopped working, but has successfully recovered.
Changing the presentation interval changes the rate of screen flicker, but does not remove it.
No amount of graphical tweaking corrects the problem.
Disabling CrossFire immediately corrects the problem. However, this is not an acceptable longterm solution.
If I'm going to play EVE, I want to be able to play it on maximum settings and take in the game to the fullest graphical extent as the developers intended it to be viewed. A pair of CrossFired 7850s should have no problem doing that.
I'm currently downloading the Catalyst 13.2 beta to see if there is an improvement. |

Drivers for two (6850, in Crossfire) cards are listed as 9.12.0.0
I think you are referring to Catalyst 13.1, which is the version I am running.
Natasha Three's description is almost word-perfect, except I get the "stopped working but has successfully recovered" after exiting the game (both ALT-TAB and quitting -- and logging out to change characters, as well). |

Would just like to add myself as another victim of this issue (2x 6950s on a ASUS Gene-Z v1). Also text is very blurred when in full-screen I've noticed, but I think that is an effect of anti-aliasing. This makes me think that anti-aliasing doesn't work properly with fixed window and is causing the color and text corruption when in full-screen.
Also, just as a comment to Natasha, a single 6950 (only uses 1 GPU in fixed window) plays eve at about 100-150fps @ 1080 resolution. So the crossfire honestly doesn't add much to the game's visual experience and the even when the psychedelic colors weren't happening I found what anti-aliasing did to text and some of the finer details on the models too grating on the eyes to ignore.
I also noticed playing Farcry 3 that the "glow" that lootable bodies and containers are supposed to have was also corrupted, though only in a "it's not applied to 80% of the lootable item's model and the remaining 20% is highly pixelated". Everything else in the game was beautiful, so maybe there is a common effect that is used more widely in EVE. Hopefully the guys in the graphics dept will find the correlation helpful.
I'll poke my head back in this thread another day and can provide more info or images if requested. |

I'm not having issues
I just want to add another point of data as a Crossfire ATI user: I couldn't get fullscreen to break with ALT+TAB, or any other actions with the client or the desktop.

Same problem, just updated to 13.1 a min ago now Im having to DL 12.8 again SIGH, didnt have this with 12.8 and people are saying that 13.2 beta is crashing, I think everyone should go back to 12.8 til they fix this as I did not have any problems at all
two 6970s in xfire or not in xfire, fixed windowed or fullscreen, two monitors or one, and 120hz monitor and 60hz monitor, and locked frames to 125, 62, 30, all these variables work perftectly fine with 12.8, with 13.1 alt tabbing breaks fullscreen.
cpu and ram nowhere close to max, usually much less than 1/2, no overclock on gpus and running 75C on low settings fixed windows, hadnt tested two account fullscreen xfire. |
