Everyone goes on and on about the Rax... All I ever see is a Rax here, Rax there...everywhere a Rax Rax...
But I love my Stabber! With autocannons and a good AB, you can cose fast on rats blast em, and get out before you get into trouble.
Anyone else use a Stabber regularly?
Also, what is a good PvP setup for a stabber?

weirda no longer use stabber regularly - but is probably favourite cruiser no less. even with the limited slot layout, it is fairly flexible, and its speed allow you to dictate range against any other ship (even frigs).
4 x 220mm Vulcans + whatever else you want. damn its sweet!

Stabber is the best tech 1 ship in the game as far as Im concerned. But then Im a speed freak
Mine gets over 1km/s with just an AB II.
As for setups, try this in PvP:
4x 220mm Vulcan Auto, 2x Medium Nosferatu 1x AB II, 1x Warp Scrambler, 1x MOYC 3x Nanofiber/Gyros/PDUs
Its not uber, but you can easily deal with most PvP situations. Stabber shines in wolfpacks, so if you have some buddies, go out in a few Stabbers and just rip things up.
Also, dont discount ECM for your third mid...esp in groups.

Edited by: Naughty Boy on 01/08/2005 17:18:44 Same here, i fly often this great ship.
My npc setup is build around a large cap battery, "dura" style. Unfortunately, i couldn't find a good plate setup for it, mainly because of the limited number of low slots. The large cap battery setup involves dual 180mm, an ab2, a web, a med rep2, active kin & passive thermic hardeners (Unless cap skills are maxed, the med rep2 can't run forever with 2 active hardeners).
Pvp setup would be 1600mm nanofiber plate, energized adaptative nano membrane2, reactor control, ab2, web, scrambler, dual 180mm and rocket launcher. It's relatively immune to nos setups. Or, there is the 220mm + nos + gyro setup, which isn't bad but severly lacks defense when engaging ships that it cannot kill fast enough (aka, the drawback of gank setups).
Sincerly Yours, The Naughty Boy.

Stabber is nice when you want go fast, with MWD it gets insane speed, but I still prefer my plated Rupture over Stabber.

I learned PvP in a Stabber (well I ganked small ships). Stopped using it after a dual MWD rupture killed me. Now I hope for the comeback in a Vagabond...

The Stabber is such a cool looking ship . Three of us have been using them as in a heavy tackler role / Anti frig + Crusier. Nice and cheap setup and lasts so much better than a AF.
Highs 4 x 280mm Tech II 2 x named Assault Launchers
Mids 10mn ABII (can be swapped out for webber / turret disrupter II 1 x 20km Scrambler 1 x Sensor Booster II
Low 1 x small repairer 1 x nano / gyro II 1 x 1600mm named plate
4100 armour, a top speed of 800ms and the surprise element, as most peeps dont really know this ship.

I'm also a great fan of this speedy deliverer of death.
Has anyone reading this heard of special stabbers ? I heard somtinh about a Fleet Stabber that can be obtained through a mission.

the fleet stabber is better then the stabber, although not a lot. and if you want to buy one you'll probably pay more then for a vagabond(stabber Hac flavour).they are handed out by minny agent.

Originally by: Rexy the fleet stabber is better then the stabber, although not a lot. and if you want to buy one you'll probably pay more then for a vagabond(stabber Hac flavour).they are handed out by minny agent.
But the fleet issue requeres about 50% less skills to fly it then the HAC variant.
to Root Deltree: On the other hand, by the time you finally get the offer for this thing, it will be totally useless to you anyway. Cuase the skill you will have at that time will allow you to fly ships that are 2x better then this faction Stabber.
This is what bothers me somewhat, the offers do nor run in par with your char development, so why did ccp implement these faction ships in the first place? Just to be looked at? If there are of no use to you because you already got way better ships, then why give these offers in the first place?

Mostly collectable items. Also Faction BSes are still the best BSes you can get so they are quite cool. And being seen flying around in a faction ship is cooler than being seen in a HAC most of the time, because they are more rare. ========================

Yeah, but what is the use for faction cruisers and frigs? Sure thing that faction BS`s are better then the current t1 ones. But tec2 frigs and cruisers are way better then the faction counterparts, so why even bother to include them in the game, when they only appear SO late (as offer) that they only serve as hanger decorations?
If CCP put then earlier on in the game, arround the time a char can play a AS or HAC, only THEN can they serve a peruse other then the hanger deco I talked about. I just dont get the reasoning behind it.

4xDual 180mm Autocannon II 2xAssault Missile Launcher
1x10MN MWD 1xStasis Webifier 1xWarp Scrambler
1x800mm Plate 1xSmall Armor repairer II 1xEnergized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Ship and setup cost less than 8 mill (insurance pays 5), and it works reasonably well.

Edited by: Root Deltree on 02/08/2005 12:24:45 So the best bet on obtaining the fleet stabber is to buy one of a senior player's Garage sale... To bad i cant place a buy order on it.

yep, or work and sweat untill you have like 300k lp and a gazillion isk, then you maybe and just maybe get an offer from you agent. [/sarcasm] But by this time you can already fly the Vagabond HAC (tec2 Stabber), which is by far superior to the Fleet Issue Stabber

Even though I have the skills to fly anything, cept Gallente BS, I generally find a way to make the Stabber work for the mission. Frigate speed with cruiser power. It's not the strongest cruiser, my Maller setups by far could easily tank most anything....but the stabber is just fun. ____________________________________________________________
