Dueling offers finally a legit way to have a 1v1 fight with another person, which is something i have personally been looking for since i started playing eve back in 05.
But there is still certain ''holes'' in the mechanic, like the fact you can still be in a fleet with a boosting alt, making the fight 3v1. You can still be Remote repaired by third parties, sure they get flagged, but this doesnt stop them.
This, imo, should be made so that it wont be possible. Dissallow Duels when you are in a Fleet. Have a way more punishing slap to any third party who interferes in a Duel, have them insta killed or globally red to Everyone. This way it might actually become a 1v1
Besides this it would be cool if we could: - Bet on fights, actually be able to make isk on this. - Have some sort of market on this, like the bounty system. Where you earn more money if you win over bigger Duelists
But this is all my view and hopes on where it is going, id like to hear what everyone else thinks on this topic.

No. "Fairness" should NOT be enforced by the game mechanics. You want to duel... okay... but you better have a plan B in case he/she cheats (note: your opponent is always cheating unless you trust him/her).
edit: everything else you want can already be done. You just have to set it up. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

But then why have anything called Duel at all ? if it is just another can flipping where RR and links wins. What i understood from it, was that it was a way for two people to have a fight without having to can flip each other, and without other people bothering you.
oh well i might just be dreaming, had my hopes up
