Enable corp tax, and then when you could run a corp for free ;).

For free

HQ is for free, but that doesn't mean you have an office there. To get a corp hanger you will need an office. Office prices depend on location, can range from a few thousand isk up to several millions. Running a small corps doesn't cost much.

Any corp where people NPC or run missions became a sweet little candy cane for the CEOs.
I REALLY think that CCP should make some audit info available to corp members who pay in the isk. After all, taxpayers do get to see how government spends their tax money (at least in theory).
At this moment CEO's have no accountability over corp taxes collected. It will lead to problems. I know people are not happy about the greed already.

And they have the right to leave the corp. Clearly they should if they feel they are being ripped off. ----------------------------------------------

Yes, but it isn't so easy. One, they may have some assets invested in the corp that would be lost if they were to leave. Two, this corp tax is popular with most corps out there, changing the corp doesn't guarantee you have less tax.
The problem is not the tax, but lack of accountability. CEO's line: "corp expenses....saving for a dread.....POS costs.....BPO investments." Excuses are endless and skimming goes on.
So keep the tax but please make CEO and directors accountable. ---------- Richard Simmons in Space |

The thing you have to remember is that the vast majority of corps are VERY small - A corp is considered 'Large' at 80 people or so. As for the tax - In my experiance, people either benifit from the corp tax in the form of tangible goods - Dreads, Pos, BPO's, ect. or they get fed up, and they leave or the tax is reduced. It's so easy to create, leave, and join corps that bad ceos don't manage corps with people in them for long.

They could just rob you blind anyway. If you think your CEO/directors are skimming, then you need to find a new corp...period.

an office cost starting from 10k to 15million, from what ive seen. Just pick a office on a not so busy place. I was asked to pay 15million in Scolluzer, in the LVL4 agent station, while in a other place i paid 10k!

Speaking of Greedy how many of us know of members or Former members who sucked the life out of a corp taking everythign for free while the other put into the corp? There are Many examples and stories of 1 or 2 loyal regular members donatign all they have to a corp to have member #3 with billions in his personal wallet not even want to donate 1 isk of his personal wealth while expecting Everything free from his/her corp.

Interesting opinion...
Well, I'm the CEO of a 96-man corp with a 10% tax rate. I'm also one of the poorer members. Why? Because corp cash is corp cash, not my cash, and most of my game time is taken up by politics.
Don't make sweeping statements like that. It's not the norm just because you've seen it happen. Trust me. ____________________________________________

What will cost the most is your time spent running the corp and making sure things are handled.
