I've just downloaded a song by Exodus called 'War is my Shepard' and i thought OMG that would be sweet in an intense battle scene.

that stuff drives me mad, dont know why so many people put it in their movies, goddamn nightwish. opera rock is one of the few genres i cant stand.
anyway wouldnt you rather listen to soome "bangin choons?"
not enough people use iron maiden in vids tbh, though the last bydi vid had some bruce ****inson which worked well. ---

But really, not enough people use perfectly good bands like ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, George Thurgood, and generally good ol' Rock 'n Roll.
Oh and Black Label Society.

Edited by: Trey Azagthoth on 09/08/2005 15:04:23 Ok people, as the self proclaimed metal master (shut up, I can dream too...) I have put together the DEFINITIVE list of bands that most of their songs would fit wonderfully into an Eve video.
-Meshuggah (listen to them and know why)
-Dimmu Borgir (great mix of metal and classical sounds)
-Pantera (its ******* Pantera for god's sake...DUH!)
-Slayer (same reason as Pantera)
-Metallica (yet again, its Metallica...)
-Tool (a great mix of heavy music and trippy music that appeals to many)
-DevilDriver (ex Coal Chamber lead singer with new band, insane songs, expect my next vid to contain some...)
-Rage Against The Machine (I dont see enough RATM in vids, would love to see more...)
-System of a Down (great band with some real catchy tunes)
-Otep (again, dont really see any Otep songs in vids, might include some, very ominous sounding yet insanely heavy songs...)
-Ministry (I think Jesus Build My Hotrod would go GREAT in a vid)
-A Perfect Circle (Tool's lead singer's 2nd band, great stuff)
-Kitty (nice to see some girls who know how to rock)
-Fear Factory (anyone who knows me knows I cant get enough of FF)
-Rammstein (being used a lot in vids...BECAUSE THEY RULE)
-Disturbed (good band with nice songs)
-Chemical Brothers (not metal, but still good songs)
-The Crystal Method (see above)
-Lord of Acid (hehehe, just listen to them)
-Rob/White Zombie (if you dont know why, please, turn on your microwave and insert your head...)
-Black Label Society (its Zakk ******* Wylde ffs...)
-Ozzy Osbourne (would love to hear someone use No More Tears in a vid, also Crazy Train...)
-Alice in Chains (great tunes, underrated band)
-Coal Chamber (nice heavy tunage)
Ok guys, Im really tired atm, feel free to add to the list here, I know Ive probably missed a few. But please, nothing like Meatloaf or anything like that, if so, revert back to sticking your head in a powered on microwave k?

Thats good music, but alot of it doesn't really get you pumped or draw you into the movie. The music is something that can make or break a movie, and if you have 'Stairway to Heaven' playing during a huge fight scene, people are going to fall asleep. -----------------------------------------------

Offspring are not fast at all. Listen to Meshugga or Exodus, and you will know fast. They also sound like screaming babies, but that's just my opinion.
Metallica on the other hand, are great. Fade to Black is awsome. Imagine like an intro with fade to black and right as the battle starts, the distortion kicks in. Then as it goes back to soft you get some text describing stuff, then it hits distortion and more fighting, then you get that bridge and thats where the climax is! DAAAA DAA DA DA!!! DAA DAA DA DAA DAA!!! DUU DUU DUU!!! nenenen nenenene enenen enenen uh.
OMG OMG. Imagine a silent intro then having 'Ride the Lightning' BLAST in.
If anyone needs ideas on how to work music into their movies, drop me a mail, and ill help for free. -----------------------------------------------

Anyone heard of Pitchshifter? UK metal band drum n bass based, think prodigy + sex pistols. Well even if you like metal and dont make video's you'd do well to check out their album "www.pitchshifter.com" This would rule for Eve videos. PS this is not a plug for my band lol i think they spilt up while back though. :(

I used the theme from the magnificent seven in my recent (and first) movie. but then I am weird. You will not believe the hassle of trying to synchronise explosions in fraps and the crash of cymbals.

and for 1 video you should put some catchfrases off the film spaceballs on 1 that would be pretty funny :)
