Hello,
I have played EVE for a long time and up to now nothing has been really wrong. Just recently I gave my wife a 14 day trial to play EVE, which she has been giving the game a fair shake. We have two computers both connected to the internet via router (Netgear, RP614) through a DSL connection. We have played WoW in the past with both computers and no problem, but when we try to play EVE on both computers there is a problem... the person loggign on last is fine inside a station, but once they undock they lose connection within 1-2 minutes and cannot get a stable connection until the other computer is logged off EVE. I know of some problems with the Netgear routers and plan on getting another one in the future, but I was wondering if anyone else knows of workarounds for the Netgear routers since they are used frequently?

I used to have issues with netgear with other games. I switched to linksys, and currently with Eve I use a D-Link with no issues running to machines playing eve. I would reccomend changing to either D-link or Linksys and your issues should go away.

Thank you. I baught another router, a SMC Barricade, which will arrive in a couple of days. Hopefully things will return to normal wiht the new router.

ive had enourmous problems with my netgear router with disconnections also..
ive upgraded the firmware, and its since sorted itsself out.

Okay here is an update to my problems. I got my SMC Router and it seems to wokr nicely, I like the interface and the firmware is up to date. But I made an interesting discovery, my alt does not suffer the same "drop connection once in space". So neither my wife's character nor my alts suffer from this phenomina only Nemo here is stuck in space for about 30 second then loses connection. No commands are recived either, so I cant make a last ditch effort to dock.
Has anyone ever experienced a character specific problem like this?
