Too many deciding factors tbh, but as a guideline:
If the Deimos can web the Zealot in time, the Deimos wins. If the Zealot manages to stay out of webrange, the Zealot wins.
And even that isnt 100% guaranteed anyway.

A plated Zealot is a pain to take down solo, i guess its personal choice, both are good, but i think the Zealot is a little more flexible with setups.

Get the zeolot first. Save up some isk and then get the Deimos. If you have he skills for both your an asset to anyone w. flex to use either in any situation that might call for one over the other.

I would bet on the Zealot, if he's ganked out properly, they can be horrendously damaging.

depeneds untill t2 drones deimos lacked some potential power.
with them in now dammage could be tipped to the deimos.

if a zealot has a good web (80%+) and the deimos only has a 10km web, the zealot will win as the deimos will be a huge target while mwding, also spending all it's cap. By the time its got close enough its too late.... usually. ------------------

If the Deimos has the same web, the Zealot is done for i think, since it won't be fast enough to escape the Demios entirely.

The Zealot will annihilate the Deimos, i'd only engage if you either had an EM and Therm Hardener fitted, or you're luck enough to start at like 6km or less.

Well I blew up a zealot with a thorax before, but I started off around 15-20km. I was hardened to EM and thermal, 1600mm plate, and barely survived.
I would get the zealot though...It is more flexible, can shoot BS from outside of Nos range...Nos is deadly to a HAC. But if you travel in groups, the diemos would be alot of fun since you would probably be able to get in and do your damage since you have friends jamming and disrupting the enemy in one way or another.
But for flexibility, get the zealot.

As everyone else said, Zealot is more flexible, fly it first. Zealot can do more things than deimos, but deimos is just the king of hacs in afew areas, such as beating down bs.

Both ships are tremendously damaging. In a head to head, it all depends on range, especially with the reemergence of beam lasers. ---------------------------

Also, its not about price. Difference is not that high to a pilot who has skills to fly hac.
Its all really depends on fitting and on skills. Even sometimes fitting play major role. -=-

Its gonna be close for the Deimos. If you can get in range.. and I dont mean the first try. Cuz if you shoot by him to beyond 5K on the approach.. Say bye bye.

A munin or vagabond would have a better chance against a zealot because of their EM and thermal shield and armor resists are insane. Use phase plasma ammo as zealots natural resists is weaker to thermal attacks.

I had a couple of head to heads with a friend. The zealot came out on top.
Having said this I managed to stop him getting too close. I think range is the deciding factor as to who wins.
I personally think an Ishtar would bbq a zealot but havent tried that yet. (14 heavies )
All are awesome ships, its so close. Just pick the one that appeals to you most and go for it.

I bbq'd a zealot in my ishtar. It was a ghetto setup I threw together (shield tanked + shield extender lol) my 3 med nos 2's ate his cap alive, he did break my tank, but his cap didn't last long enough to get through all my shields. ------

I once pwnd a raven in a ibis, it was a really ghetto setup i threw together ,and there was like 500 different veriables, but i still say the Ibis pwns the raven because i once killed a raven who had no pilot. Sig by Mr Floppyknickers |

Edited by: Hamatitio on 07/08/2005 05:47:31 Well to specify.
He was using: 4x Heavy pulse 2. (He has pulse spec 5) 10mn MWD (lol ;0) something else 15km -90% webber. Yes...15km, keeping me at his optimal the entire time. 6 dmg mods 1x Med armor rep I think.
So there hanns, you **** ------

Before you choose between Zealot and Deimos a good movement is check also their brothers, (Sacrilege & Ishtar). Also check prices. A cheaper HAC is more expandable than the expensive one. And here the difference as you show above is not on the damage or tank but if the other will web you first and come closer to you or you run faster than him and kill him.
Regarding the question.
ZEALOT 4TW I personaly like the Omen chasis and is dead flexible (there is a thread somewhere here with 2 X 1600mm plates on!!!!).

Medium nos only go out to 12k... should have learned how to use a webber before he got in a zealot.
