Does anyone know if eve has a podcast? It would be great if someone had one just talking about eve.

Podcast: Someone had the revolutionary idea of taking a compressed audio file and putting it online. Yeah, doesn't sound so sexy when I describe it for what it is, does it you morons? It would have been a great idea if streaming audio wasn't already around for over a decade before the word "podcast" entered the lexicon. Man, I can't stand the word "lexicon." Talking about all these ****ty words has made me start using ****ty words. I'm so ****ed, I just slammed the door shut on some kid's nuts.
Podcasting: It's snob for "streaming audio."

Oh god, people ******* suck. Turn on the ******* radio and listen to real news instead of some internet turd whining how hard 4th period math is. That is almost as sad as paying 3x more for a mp3 player that is 'very' limited in download services and breaks quite often.

Eve podcasts have been about in various forms for over 18 months. They proved popular for a few weeks but content tends to lack in game related podcasts unless you have a very viable news source.
There is an interesting one in the works thats mentioned in the "events" channel though thats new.
Im pretty amazed at the amount of people that dont even know what a podcast is though. Ive been doing them for nearly 18 months myself but no longer EVE related.

About as incorrect as you get actualy. Podcasting is termed so because its a snippet of information or a mini show in downloadable form for play on a ipod or other digital player via a RSS feed with enclosures. Its meant to promote indie music of smaller items that would never take up an entire radio show. A podcast does not "stream" anything.

Yeah, it is lacking in news for the first one... for the second one however, we will be reading player news section stuff.... however, it is all player contributed... so, if u would like to hear more EvE universe news, then you need to send it to us, and if more ppl, send, then more news can be heard :) -Ishkil Thor- CEO, Foundation Corp Foundation Corp

Portable listening is a big bonus to podcasts as opposed to streamed media, but its not the only reason.
Where on the "real news" can you hear game reviews from professional magazine reviewers such as PC Gamer? Or listen to interviews with leading game developers/designers?
As for music on the radio, well its a joke, if its not on the "playlist" then its not played.
Podcasting has put everyone in a position to put out their views on whatever it is that interests them. The down side to that is that there is going to be an incredible amount of rubbish put out there as well. Some podcasts are truley horrendous. But there are gems within the heaps of rubbish.
Having an easy way to listen to a wide range of indie music is great. Been able to listen to game developer interviews from the big names all the way down to the little guys is great.
IMO podcasting is doing to radio what the web did for publishing. Its putting the power into the hands of individuals. Look at how well the web has taken off, yet back when it first started people were saying that getting info from the web was ok, but they prefered reading it in books/magazines.
Even though the tech behind podcasting is nothing more than a method to download mp3's to your computer/portable device, the use of that tech is a lot more empowering.
