I was informed that people were camping the DS complex in the Erila system, so I head over in my HAC, a Cerberus, to have some fun. When I get there they were trying to omgwtfpwnbbq his shuttle, I decide to help out. The picture explains the rest.....check out local chat. The harpy tried to close range but the hail of missiles made it so he couldnt get close at all. All in all there was a harpy, MOA, Ferox, and an Armegeddon there if I remember correctly. Lemme know what you guys think, I thought it was pretty comical.

They pulled back cause they couldn't close range without being toasted. Was firing on the Harpy.

Put 1 race jammer in for the bs next time warp right into them, jam the bs and orbit him at 7k, so if u lose jamers on him he stil wont hit u anyhows and keep him srambled, kill the harpy 1st, then the ferrox, I notice u have a wingman on scanner. use him to scramble aswell in a frig for -4pt's preferd and keep the bs scrambled.
Dont forget use drones if u got em! EXP type always best to carry.
ECM Cerb is a good ship.

Good point Agil, I'll have to try that out. As for the wingman, he's in a shuttle is all. Plus the heavies wouldn't have broke the harpy's tank fast enough, didn't have my assault launchers on for frigs. Good idea thuogh.

Ahh,
U want assult lauchers and lighs.
Trust meh, pack another jammer also for the ferrox, as a caldari jammers is always handy to carry aswell.

They couldnt go close range because you'd have toasted them? Makes me laugh, I for one know that it's hard to score any significant damage not talking about kills with the Cerberus.
It looks more like they couldnt close in because it's an assault frigate, a cruiser and a battleship without MWD. Even with MWD it would be hard to cross that distance - and you're actually flying away from them at full speed.

JoCool, Cerb can do enough damage to break a Harpy's tank, it will easily outcap it do some math, it would also be stupid to get close to the group, considering that I can engage at over 100km I don't consider my range a big problem........and does anyone even look at chat in local?

Last night, A gang of about 5 of us came upon a Cerebrus (HAC Carcel) sporting 5 heavies a 20k scram and a MWD with a top-speed of (as well as I can remember at work) 900m/s or more. Rightly so, the Prophecy and Domi we had with us were having trouble keeping up..
At the time I was in a crusader, tanked for Thermal and kenetic, and he was primarily dealing EM/Explosive, little did I know he had a 20k at the time, so I get in and begin my tackle process and find myself against 5 heavies spamming like crazy... so I warp out come back in on top of him, I can tank 3-4 volleys then have to bug-out. So the then still living ishtar takes my place.. POP he couldnt take the furry hes down and out.
Another gang member warped out after losing his eagle before I even got there at this time he was coming back in a domi with a MWD 1100m/s top speed
I go back to switch up to a Shadow serpentis energized reactive plate puting my EM / Explosive up above 70's
webber / plates / uber cap time
When I get there they are chasing him all over the place this was the bulk of the fight i think he was trying to get us to warp and aggress him at the gate and he could get to 40km and WTFPOWNMYFRIG which with time he attempts
he locks me with a 20k cram and i am running out of cap webbing him i deactivate my guns and imediately turn AB and small armor rep 2 to MANUAL trying to desprately to get away form him (20km or more) he gets into my structure
5x heavies one volly after another and my repair is timed just perfectly and luckily enough to add armor as his volly comes in keeping struc damage to a minimum, at 33% struc and 15% armor i get out and warp free..
I jump back to my malediction
2 nos, shields / armor tank ability, 2 power Scram, 90% web, 1100m/s, ubercap. This guy is going down.
I get back and we proceed to chase him with a prophecy / 2 domi's a malediction and a crow (crow was old buddy of gang-matespassing thru and decided to help tackle) he must of had 1 stab on cause nothing but 2+ pts kept him down after about 1.5 hours chasing him and being chased (this guy knew his PvP)
We got so lucky to make him think he could go head to head with one of the domi's, the MWDed one at that! so head to head closing fast and I jump 3,000m from him! hes locked at this point at it takes maybe 45 sec for our gang to rip thru his shields /armor /struc POP goes the HAC Finally I think... PAY DAY!!!, kill mail reports 100% ship items lost............................
After the fact I had his pod locked and at structure
"Shall we ransom?, I ask"
then an all to familiar voice answers,
"no this was a really good fight I want to recruit this guy"
I deactivate the ships modules and tell him,
"your free to go"
He replies with,
"Good fight guys, I was just on my way to begin a few months of mining" (!!!??!?!!?!?!?!!!?)
His pod warped and we get a THXFORNOTPODINGMYIMPLANTS
Followed by my OMGWTFRANSOM50MILL
so in the end
Cerebrus pilot : 2
Insanity+1 : 1
His Estimated Losses: 200mill
Our Estimated Losses: 200mill
good fight / new recruit: Priceless
These are the fights I play for.

we went and podded a half-dozen haulers in low-sec after that to make up for the lack of booty/bounty  YAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR DEEE HARRR HARRR

UPDATE!!!!
OK. Well we met up with this guy and his cerebrus again in the same system. Guess what happens?
Its me and 2 others this time, I'm in a tackler inty and we have a prophecy and a domi along with me. He aggresses me at a gate and I jump thru. I cant handle 5 heavies while I'm not moving at all (which at the moment I was stationary typing in local). Since the first fight we offered a invite to our invite only corp, as mentioned, asked him to be friends and play nice, TO TOP EM ALL OFF WE LET HIS POD GO! For that he attacks me again in his new shiny cereb. People these days, no honour I tellz ya NONE!!! This was in the midst of a 6 mill isk shadow BS spawn we were trying to do. So I refit get a PvP ship and others follow suit. I get back and my gang got the shadow BS fine and the cereb. is at gate ready to jump and he locks me again so I lock him down... I do moderatly well tanking but as soon as mates come in I bug out as they scram web him. At this point the cereb.'s aggras gone and he attempts to approach and jump thru to 0.1 system WHAT HAPPENS NOW WILL MAKE THIS GUY WISH HE JOINED US. 
Of course he CTD while hes scramed down, all his mods, guns, velocity down to 0 we make him go boom boom.
He logs back on in a pod and warps right in back on us of course he got away to live another day. BUT WE WILL GET HIS POD, that is a promise.
all he had to say before I blocked him was
"Bet you guys feel real leet killing a guy that just CTD"
Yes Yatar, it does make me feel leet that I didnt crash and you did. At that... try to tell me you wouldn't of done the same.
In 3 days he loses 2 cerebrus and all high-end mods we got a better pull from his can this time around but I'm not saying what. Check Sell-Ads Fourm for info

yatar, if you read this:
never meant to blow up your first cerebus, it was a great fight. i really did want you to join us, you would have been a nice asset.
the second time around, im not upset, b/c you rejected the convos, you rejected my invites. i understand you are suspicious, but i really did want to fly along side of you.
hopefully, one day you will realize, when i strike a deal, its a done deal. im not some two bit backstabing pirate as you suspected i was.
you are one of the best cerebus pilots i have seen in the game yet. |
