Whats so special with this system?
The reason I ask is because quite often when I use the map to set my autopilot my ship simply chooses to set the autopilot to Akpivem.
The autopilots wish to go there has absolutely nothing to do with what system I really want to go to nor if I want to set a destination or waypoint.
I have been there a few times (some intentionally and some as I wasnt paying atention) but cant really see anything so special that my ship/autopilot wants to keep going there.
As far as I can tell its a very uninteresting system.
0.8 sec rating
No station.
12 A-belts.
A bunch of moons and planets.
No obvious complex.
Give me a good reason for why my ship/autopilot keeps wanting me to go there and I may just reward you :)
I know its probably just a map bug but that explanation is really dull.

Morticia lives there and she puts spells on your autopilot so you'll end up in her grasp. She'll then proceed to escort you to the proper authorities, who will decide what to do about the blatant spelling mistake in your last name / blatant use of a spelling mistake to pose as a genuine Adams to whoever may fall for it (strike what's not applicable)

Your autopilot is developing a personality of it's own. This is the system where it wishes to live out the rest of it's days.
Present the said autopilot unit with the ship related and i shall repair it at once.

Uhh?
Its autoupdated from the net and set to GMT+1(sweden).
I would love to hear the reason why an incorrectly set clock could create a problem such as this :)
Thus far I have few reward meriting posts, rub them creative gray cells together and give me a reason to reward you with somthing good.

Ahh, thank god, i thought it was only me this happened to.
Have you checked these systems out in 3d view? They may be really high up, so with the slight 'warping' you get for 2d view your client may think they actually cover the entire map 
Either that or the rogue drones have infected ships with a self replicating virus that forces players into this system, allowing the Drones to gank an un-suspecting player spawn.

the trit your ship was built from was mined from this system and due to a solar flair has mutated and developed a slight personality, hence, its just trying to get home.

Quite often if I hover my mouse a few pixels off a system it will show up as Akpivem, maybe there's a bug that makes it the backround of the map or something.

I live in the region with this system, and often travel through it.
It is featureless, except for that it is a crossroad system in the region, and hence has quite a number of jumps per hour.
Perhaps, you have some sort of weirdo cached map issue. Where you have a waypoint set for this system in the map cache folder, but it is not set otherwise, and autopilot is calculating routes including this non-waypoint, as a waypoint. Blast your map cache files and see if things correct.
One other thing is that the name starts with AK, while not very likely could be the first system name in alphabetical order in the game.

I know exactly what you're talking about, I don't remember if it's Akpivem that my autopilot always sets itself too, but it's the same situation. Ikvar's right, it's clearly a bug that makes the entire background register as that particular system.

It is not an issue of my installation unless it is a permanent feature on my disc.
I can remember this happening as far back as castor and since then I have had to reinstall EvE atleast 3 times, 1 being a complete wipe due to a HD crashing.
Anyhow, it seems I am not the only person that this happens to.
Must be some dark conspiracy that is to be fulfilled at some time or other, maby the portal to jove space will open in the system if only enough players mett upp at the sun there or somthing :)
