>>>>>>>> how i can get this 200 damage per hit that players go on about? I can do 50-80 damage at 45km+ thx to my combat skill training), and pre-patch i could get the odd 180+ damage, but even with 5 of my 6 low slots using stadi II coolers i only get on average 60-80 damage even at optimal range.... I have:: medium turret lvl4, gunnery lvl5, sharpshooter lvl4, rapid fire lvl4, controlled bursts lvl4, surgical strike lvl4, weapon upgrades lvl3, cruiser lvl4....so what am i doing wrong?

what guns/ammo are you using, and against what, and at what sort of ranges? .

Well, when i was using medium projectiles i would regularly get 70-80 damage and way above 200 wrecking shots. This when i actually hit something.
Under the current situation i saw myself shifting to hybrids (sigh) and the average damage is lower (40-60's?). Those 200+ plus wreckings still show up.
This is all with market lvl equipment.

You can get 100-300 per shot if you are going in close with neutron blasters/Antimatter, depending on skills, strap-ons and such.
whilst frigate fighting with a corpmate, I was hitting 50-60 (small blasters/thorium)
The long range weapons don't do nearly as much damage.
So these 200 per shot numbers you hear of are probably situation specific, or lucky hits with AM.
Unless someone can prove me wrong (which is quite likely) .

Yeah I think these 200 damage hits are with short range medium blasters. It's nice damage and all, but with a 1200m optimal range... good luck getting to use it.

Just start with sensor disruptors, AB into range, ECM burst them, and let rip.
But the chances of having these countered are to high for me to guarantee success. .

get a mod. heavy beam, get a maller, get 6x rare heat sink, get multy freq christals get medium lvl5, and surgical lvl5. you have then an 7.6 or so modifier. with some luck you will make it

 To drunkmaster:
Im using 3x Heavy Beams, 1X modded Heavy Pulse, 1x Afocal Heavy Beam. I use Radio crystal at distance and within 28km I switch to MF or Gamma. I have 5x Stadi II heatsink coolers (1.97 damage each)
I use them against NPC which, and if im honest, i never let them get closer than 22km because they are dead by then. I can fire from full target range (47.5km) and i do damage therein at about 50-80. I do get 'wrecking' shots like everyone else, but when i hear the guys in here going on about 200+ damage they give the impression that its every shot.I just wanted to get the same types of damage.

The heavy mod beams with two of the good heat sinks produce about 80-90 every 4.3 seconds at about 25k using gamma's.
I can get 70-90 up to 44k but miss alot.
Using multi freqs and staying at about 20-23k 100 is pretty normal.
about 200+ for perfect and 303 was highest ever.
I only use two pumps, anymore I think I would start having cap issues. 'Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law' |

Erm...on most cruisers this would mean you'd have no shield booster. And a single ecm burst won't stop a Rupture or other combat cruiser from pounding you into dust.

" how i can get this 200 damage per hit that players go on about? "
A lot of what you here is complete bs and is not consistent. But there are some who have focused skills and entire setups on dmg and tracking who do good consistent dmg.
Never been hit for 200 dmg by anything consistently except by bships every so often since the great nerf patch (was quite common before the patch of doom).
Also lasers tend to hit shields very hard on dmg and produce high figures until they eat into the armor for obvious reasons. But so many ppl going lasers its very easy to have the right tactical shield manipulation ready to go .
I usually hit for 80-130 dmg with out any dmg or tracking enhancing modules and every single gunnery skill available at lvl 4 using heavy beams or guass hybrids.
imo of coarse.
