Guy does a 50 hour straight stint and dies of heart failure when he finishes. Only in Korea I guess.

Whilst playing video games for 50 hours almost solid is not generally healthy, I don't think it would cause someone to keel over dead unless they had something that might have been wrong with them beforehand. That's not to say it can't happen, and with that australian fitness-fanatic who died of deep-vein thrombosis after sitting in a plane's economy cabin for a few hours, there are rare cases.
But I'm only a little younger than the 28 y/o in that article, and though I wouldn't try it, I'm pretty sure that 50 hours of solid gaming wouldn't kill me. There are people my age and older being tortured, whipped, poked with sticks in countries around the world, for days on end, probably most of them by americans in guantanamo bay, and they're still alive. He prob had some sosrt of heart condition, ate/drank almost nothing and what not for that time, which is what killed him. While he may not have done it without the video game, it wasn't the gaming that killed him. Bloody press don't say that though. "Video Game kills 28 y/o"..."Child murdered after playing video game", etc, etc.

well anything in excess is unhealthy so they say. I cant imagine sitting still playing a game for 2 and a bit days straight. I dont have (thankfully) that much love for games and a real life that keeps me in check. IMO anything over 3 hours a night is a bit excessive but I dont get much free time.
on a slightly related note I saw the bbc version of this report with a link to....
