It's steady income. If that's what you want, yes, it's boring but it works.
If you want something more interesting, try exploration in low/null. Or, hell, try missions in low/null.

Non-stop hisec mission running **would** be a terribly boring way to go. Having said that, mission running is often the 'staple' for many of us carebear types, and hisec missions do provide an easy gentle income stream, especially when you've only got short periods of time available in eve.
Some people, when they find hisec mission-running getting a bit tedious, go off and do other things. The list of other things available is pretty large (I hope someone will post a link to that neat PDF 'chart' showing the professions options in eve) ... and you can stay in-line with your carebear past or go wild and try something completely different. Over to you! Get out there and do something else ... if only for a while. It's way more rewarding than grind, grind, grind all the time.
If your skills and experience are mainly in hisec mission-running then some relatively easy changes might be: - lvl4 epic arcs (mainly hisec with some of the arc options taking you to lowsec / nullsec); - COSMOS missions. Good for standings but at times they seem a little tedious. - lvl3 'pirate' epic arcs. Nullsec arcs. Great for learning about surviving (yes, and dying) in null, and pretty good returns on effort. - lowsec / nullsec missions. Better per-mission return than hisec, but more dangerous and take more effort / care to stay safe. - exploration. Hisec / lowsec / nullsec. Introduces you to new skills and game dynamics ... and the joys of randomness. Variably very rewarding and PITA frustrating.
Moving a little further afield you could explore: - PvP .... join up with a hisec (wardec), lowsec (piwate), or nullsec (sov or other) PvP corp. Red v Blue is a great way to test the waters here, and most of their play is in T1 frigs and cruisers so the (multiple) ship losses are not too traumatic to your wallet. - W-space. Get involved with a w-space group ... or set out on your own. I did the latter and spent the last two years learning heaps and accumulating quite a sizeable wallet. You can PvE w-space relatively safely, once you understand the dynamics, and you **will** learn a heap of new things.
Those are just the things that kinda interest me. There are heaps, heaps, more options in EVE that don't involve being bored in the forums. Good luck.

With missions comes corp standings With corp standings comes lower tax (sales and refining) With corp standings comes State Standing (if you persevere and do the storylines etc) With enough state standing comes the availability of a whole lot more agents and the ability to anchor pos should that float your boat, also gives you standings for R+D agents to passively accumulate RP's for datacores.
Plus don't forget the isk, loot and salvage all of which can either be sold, or in the case of loot, either melted for minerals, or sold.
So yeah while it's boring, it's not a bad thing to do if you've got limited play time. |

Try exploration. Cashflow isn't as steady but I found it far more interesting and at least as profitable as mission running. And it will help you develop skills useful in places other than missions. |

you could also group up with a friend and blitz missions together; both take one and duo them. It's easier and you can chat. |
