I've been doing amarr navy missions for over 2 months now. I have more than enough standing to use level 4 good quality agents. However, I dont fly battleships and my gaming style (or rather erratic game times due to rl) doesnt involve much grouping. I'm afraid, I wont even try lev 4 in my Prophecy. Am I stuck with level 3 agents? Is getting more and more loyaly points with lv 3 agent a smart move? Even if I managed to group up or get a battleship and start lev 4 missions, is it really that more profitable? I mean I get the odd spy stash and I do get good isk, but will I get good offers from lev 3 agents when I manage to rank up 100'000 loyalty points? I really wouldnt want to find out 1/2 year from now that the only way to glory is doing lev 4....

ya with out a bs about 80% of lev4s are about imposable

Level 4 missions are long, really, really, long.
So first off, if you cant devote three or four hours a day to do the mission, stick to level 3's.
Second, because the missions are so long, they really aren't that much more profitable. The loot drops are a joke now.
On a mission reward basis lvl 3 and 4 are probably the same as far as isk/hour.
Bounties are higher in level 4's and proabably lead to a higher hourly rate (though maybe not by much). The same is true for LP.
Personally, I still do both. When I have an hour, I'll take a level 3. When I feel like more of a challenge and have the time, I'll take a level 4. But I don't worry about isk/hour either way.

You doing similar missions as me.
Im doing for some time Amarr navy agent lev 3 quality 11.
I can get lev 4 quality 20....but offcourse i dont do them yet.
About offers and cash...lower system mission does sometimes pay as lev 4 mission in higher space (spystash, black market, convoy). I was offered by this agent interceptor after only 10k LP..i couldnt fly it so I turned the offfer down.
And he offered me a bit later an APOC for 55k LP and 1/3 minerals need. THat offer i took :).
So it does pay off doing lev 3. LEV4 you must be really, really expirianced to do them alone....mostly you do them with someone.....more fun that way

I did that mission yesterday in my mega and finished it in 15 minutes. My lovely quality 19 agent in 0.5 space gave me 1998 LP and a ~1MISK. With better standing to an agent those missions get common. So do the math by yourself if you want to know when you will reach 100000LP.
If you wanna make nice money you have to run multiple lvl3 agent and skip half of all importent missions. Go for implant offers they sell well on escrow. Keep an eye on your standing and get a good corp of the opposite faction _befor_ they start to hate you.
The eve map tool from www.eve-i.com is nice to figur out what agents in your region are good. Keep your travel time in mind. Most isk/hour calculatons miss it and are plain simply wrong for that reason. Insta help a lot here.
