The distinction was made between combat and attack battlecruisers to establish which ships could fit command links and which ships could not. Same for "deep space transport" and "blockade runner" only to determine which ship could fit a covops cloak.
In doing this they eliminated silly CPU requirements for these modules and eliminated CPU reduction role bonuses and replaced them with a simple "can be fit to" mechanic. |
