Ever wonder about all those Marine units you wind up with? Ever wonder what you can do with them? Maybe the Dev's would allow some of these options. :)
1) Place them in corporate hangers to guard against corp thieves. Anyone attempting to take your possessions gets podded.
2) So you've chased that smack-talking pirate into a station and now he/she refuses to come out huh? Well load up some transports with Marines and use them to kill the offender. Simply dock, unload and attack.
3) Use them to protect your jet-cans or ore. Load some Marines into each jet-can and next time an ore thief tries to grab some loot, the Marines board his ship and kills him, leaving the ship intact.
:)

Either free the slaves or we will come and get them.

A long time someone suggested that the maries could be used for taking over stations (POS). Now that would give them a real use, besides the one Sarkos suggested. Or making them take over a pirate owned station or factory..

Them being shipped to conquerable stations in order to secure these would also be a good use.

This was discussed in the Swedish channel, and I must say that stocking up Marines in a Industrial and jam the enemy and scream "You're being boarded! Do not resist!" is pure roleplay.

Though I can't imagine the Devs would allow Marine/Passengers to kill players, having them board ship and cause damage to components or raid stations would be practical.
Nothing fatal, simply disruptive. A fast attack ship that orbits an enemy vessel for a few seconds within 1000 meters can send 'raiding' parties of their Marines to do limited damage to the bigger ships. Having Marines in your hold would offset the boarding Marines.
Having Slaves in your Hold would add a positive modifier to the attacking Marines (free the galley slaves).
For NPC structures, the ones in complexes...before you pop their "Pleasure Habitats" you can get extra loot by sending over some raiding parties...
Oh the list is endless... ______________ "I Type with my Tongue" |

Having marines board enemy ships sounds fun :P. Also it would end the endless debate about if/why there're crews in the ships. To repel the assaults yarr.
Now, any idea about uses for the stewards in my hangar?

Indeed endless, they could also be used on that mission. You know where you have to rescue that "maiden", the one that always gets herself into those brothels..
As for the stewards Karunel, make em serv the food or keep your janitor in line

Or do it the homeworld way, where you have haulers who latch onto other ships and take them over.

Or if every ship has crew complements, with a transportation module, you may wish to beam marines on-board to enemy ships after their shields are gone, so they can wreck havoc internally by taking out capacitors, engines, weapons, navigation sections. These will slowly cripple player's ship. On top of that, if the ship if down from armour to hull, may try to board it. Nice touch for pirates because they are really "pirate" something to sell now ;]

Ah, counter measures
But exotic dancers could also be used as weapons, reducing the pilot's efficiency by distracting him -- Intergalactic Teeth Pullers "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." Albert Einstein |

Also to capture a station or any pos. Just load a transport with them and dock with the station. ______________________________________________ "I¦m not even supposed to be here!", Dante. |
