Alright, I did not think I would end up needing to write this, but I was wrong. It seems every corp I am interested in either operates half an universe away from me, or looks at my character info and instantly jumps to the OMG PLEASE NOT ANOTHER NOOB conclusion and turns me down. Well, its their loss, I'm sure some of you can do better.
I am not the average newbie, and I am not looking for a corp that accepts large numbers of new players no matter who they are. I'm picky, and I would like my potential new corp to be picky as well.
I dont need to be bottle-fed nor hand-held, I dont require financial support, and I dont even ask many questions. I educate myself rather quickly (a friend just called me turbo noob today, heh.) 10 days after starting the game I told other new players on help what to do and earned a million/hour. Convinced yet? No?
Prior MMO experience: I have been a gamer for a good 18 years now, and experienced many of the MMOs currently on the market. I filled leader roles in about half of them, and was a head PvP tactician for my guild on Guild Wars, writing up team builds that were quite successful. I am TS/ventrilo enabled and am comfortable using them, but preferably only for combat and not everyday chat - I am not a native english speaker, and would prefer to just play the game instead of focusing on fast-talked slang hour after hour.
My wishes/expectations:
-Corp should have a thoroughly mature playerbase and a minimum age requirement -Corp should be at least fairly active during GMT times, with 10+ members available on GMT evenings -Multiple divisions that focus on different aspects on Eve. I dont want to only PvP or only mine, though my characters will specialize (running 2 accounts) -Would prefer a corp that can defend itself well, and controls at least small areas of 0.0 -To get started, I would prefer a corp that does not get into fights with 90% of the universe. I like you pirates, but that is not how I would like to start out. -Being an alliance member is a plus, at least in my book -Mission running. I like it. I want to do it in a team later on. -Corp activity in both Empire and 0.0, preferably not 25+ jumps from my current home region (Tash-Murkon) -Prefer hand-picked corp members. I'm willing to get to know your corp for a couple weeks before being considered, and in fact I dont mind.
Now, if you are NOT thinking 'OMFG THE NOOB MAKES DEMANDS', feel free to evemail me. Posting below works as well, but I just love to get Evemail.

well we always welcome players such as yourself in ORC I'm not sure we meet your every criteria though but we let our members get on with what they want todo, we don't really have an industrial (including mining) side to our corp though.

Edited by: Chikote on 14/08/2005 00:50:18 Why not join our chat channel in-game "FUSION" and who knows you might like it there. We have players who indulge themselves in many sort of activities except piracy. Join the channel and you will get all your answers there ;).

Fusion Tech are looking for new members to achieve the huge possibilities eve has to offer. You should be willing to work within a team based corp providing your abilities to aid in the developing achievements that the corp as a whole has set out to accomplish, this being the case we are looking for players who are willing to take on group activities in all aspects of eve.
We are basically GMT based players, but we do have US based players as well.
Fusion Tech holds competitions/events to enhance the corps collective friendship and aids in the players own goals aside from the corps overall achievement. If you are looking to join a corp where you feel an essential part of its operation and want to make friends and enjoy what eve has to offer then contact either Zian, Tagriel or Mordecai in game and weÆll be happy to tell you more of the corps activityÆs and what goes on. We also have an in-game chat channel "FUSION".
Many Thanks, Fusion Tech.

Thanks to all who contacted me so far, I am a little busy over the weekend and will take a couple days to sort everything out. I might have follow-up questions for some of you.
I would like to once again clarify that I am not looking for a typical 'open to all new players' corp. The pickier the better, and I dont mind spending a couple weeks in channels to get to know each other first.

Celes Tial I have sent you a brief (well not that brief I ran out of space) evemail. To answer some of your requirements - -Corp should have a thoroughly mature playerbase and a minimum age requirement We do not have a minimum age requirement but I beleive any younger members will struggle to keep up with what is in store for us
-Corp should be at least fairly active during GMT times, with 5+ members available on GMT evenings We are mainly GMT based and active most evenings
-Multiple divisions that focus on different aspects on Eve. I dont want to only PvP or only mine, though my characters will specialize (running 2 accounts) As stated in my Evemail the plan is for the graduates to be given the option of joining the Alliance as whatever they choose
-Would prefer a corp that can defend itself well, and controls at least small areas of 0.0 That is the Alliance and hopefully we will be landing a hand very soon
-To get started, I would prefer a corp that does not get into fights with 90% of the universe. I like you pirates, but that is not how I would like to start out. We only shoot unfriendlies (Not Blue Shoot It and never gank or ransom
-Being an alliance member is a plus, at least in my book And mine
-Mission running. I like it. I want to do it in a team later on. I have to earn money and Agenting will still be my main source of income. Infact I need a hand with lvl 3's
-Corp activity in both Empire and 0.0, preferably not 25+ jumps from my current home region (Tash-Murkon). But I'm willing to travel for events. We are 18 from where I was based in Iro and run it in the time it took to write this (slow typer)
-Prefer hand-picked corp members. I'm willing to get to know your corp for a couple weeks before being considered, and in fact I dont mind. There is no real limitation to join the Academy just to join the Alliance
Hope this helps, see our Recruitment post for more info Linkage Long you live and high you fly And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry And all you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be |

Hi.
We are in the middle of nowhere and we really don¦t have any real empire activity anymore but feel free to visit our public channel "Syncore". I think the lack of empire activity and our long distance from the empire are nothing compared to the benefits of our location. You can also read thru our recruitment post. ------------------------------------------------- One of the official recruiters for the Syncore corporation.

The FREGE Alliance has some female members, perhaps one of the corps there fits your bill?
PS: I know Aegis doesnt...too specialized.

I found my corp... it is not particularly dedicated to female players, but at least I dont have to be spammed with sexist jokes on the corp channel all day. ;)
Thanks to everyone who sent an offer, apologies that I could not get back to all of you.

Edited by: Danari on 30/08/2005 16:57:32 Hi, your avatar says you're in Eye of God so maybe Syncore in Feythabolis wouldn't be such a long move for you.
We don't have a minimum age requirement, but through a lengthy chat process in our public channel in which 2-4 managers speak with recruits we find what we're looking for. Syncore is quite mature with an average age group of 25 or so. Incidentally, we just had a very experienced miner join us who had been chatting with us and watching our public channel (Syncore) for about 2 months. I invite you to do the same -- you'll find ongoing conversations with visitors throughout the day.
We are very active during Euro times, averaging 10-15 pilots on as a rule. Also we are quite able to defend ourselves because all of our members participate in pvp.
We're accepting a certain number of less experienced players, provided they can fly a barge. We have paid ice mining ops 3 times a week and isk-for-ore programs that get lesser experienced pilots into a bs very quickly.
Oh and by the way, we have 2 other active female members in the corp currently. How many corps of 60 can say that?

you may want to look into ToG - the older gamers www.theoldergamers.com
25+ age requirement, spans most mmo's and fps games. we have about 150 members with 30 on during peak times, 5-10 the rest of the time. we have divisions for mining, pvp and r+d

Are you bored of the grind? Are you bored of no teamwork? Are you bored with your way of eve life?
Gentec is now recruiting, and we are looking for pilots of all skill levels, to take part in the revolution!
We are socialist by nature, most likely the only corp of its kind in Eve! All of our pilots work together for the corp as a whole. In return all our pilots get their share of free ships, free mods, and free ammo!
We have one of the largest BPO collections in Eve, including all item and ammo bpos, and almost all ship BPOs. We have over 391 in total and all our members get everything built at pure production cost!
We have many events through the week, and we try to explore every avenue of Eve, be it pvp, industry, trade or science, so whatever you're after, you will always find a place in Gentec!
Currently accepting all timezones, please contact David Goodwill or Junder Sunster for more information.
