Hey guys, I installed Eve on a buddy's PC, and for some reason, I cant see a certain font which just so happens to be the font that most things are written in, including chatbox entries. Anyone know any way to help me?

Edited by: Keldire on 16/08/2005 01:34:49 Edited by: Keldire on 16/08/2005 01:31:20 same here. The text is garbled and looks like static. Kinda hard to run through the tutorial without being able to read anything. Now im past that and cant read the details on the missions my agent is giving me or any of the descriptions on item i have looted or want to buy.
It's not only in game but the into movie did it too... oh and the EULA as well. I have the downloaded version atm. was going to buy the box if i decided i liked the game.

What graphics card do you have ?
Also i've only ever had this problem with eve on my old GForce4MX 400 , to fix it i simply turned the Mipmap and Texture settings to a more mixed setting , rather than going for pure performance .
Try playing with those settings see if it clears up the text ingame .

Yo, I figured out the problem, I just had to update the drivers. Its usually Nvidia cards that have problems with Eve.

Edited by: TjanitN Tcroxlr on 18/08/2005 14:28:21 I have a friend who also has this problem and updating her vid drivers didnt help any. Try that first, but if it doesnt work, you may want to try this. I've done it just for fun. I havent had a chance yet to tell my friend about it so I dont know if it will solve this issue or not.

Edited by: TjanitN Tcroxlr on 18/08/2005 17:08:02 try downloading the drivers for your card from www.omegadrivers.com
The man behind Omega drivers optimizes his drivers. Since I installed them, I have noticed a universe of better quality.
As far as actually installing them, its as simple as following the onscreen prompts one they are downloaded.

from his main page (omegadrivers.com) the links are mostly easy to locate. The one page i did have trouble locatin links on was the second level, where you click on the link for your OS.the OS choices are at the very top of the page in a small header frame. everything else is very straightforward. As to the reliability of the drivers; The man works for ATI. I have a Radeon 9200 vidcard. Radeon has a habit over "overtweaking" their drivers, causing major issues. This guy scales down the tweaking, which is why I said his drivers are optimized. I have NEVER had the quality nor stability with any other vid drivers, OEM or aftermarket, that I get from his drivers.

I'm sorry. The correct URL is omegadrivers.net, not .com, as previously stated.
