Edited by: Ogadei on 16/08/2005 13:32:18 Can someone explain how I would calculate my own ability (or probability) to Scramble someone else's Warp drive?
I know every ship has a base propulsion strength (let's say mine is 7).
So let's say I fit a looted low end Warp Scrambler with a strength of 1.
Does this mean I can only scram ships with a propulsion strength of 1, or does this get added to something else?
Thanks

Umm that was intended as a feature but was dropped, the stats are there just incase they decide to do anything, so for now just ignore them, and as for jamming its scramble strength vs stabilizers

Edited by: Solomon Majere on 16/08/2005 13:42:24 You are correct. With a single scrambler you can jam a propulsion strenght 1 (or 2 if it's a short range scrambler) ship. And scramblers stack. 3 interceptors with 1 20km scrambler can stop a propulsion strenght 3 ship.
Webbing works every time once in range.

not sure how webbys are worked out, but here is how jammers work
every ship has warp strenth zero base (cept blockade runner transports, they get 2). this can be increased by fittin WCS (stabilisers). each scrambler jams a value of the strength (1-3, depending on scrabler quality).
if the combined scrambler strength of all the scramblers on that ship is more than the warp strength, the ship is warp jammed. if scramble strength is less than or equal to core strength, the ship can warp
propuulsion strength has nothing to do with it
/me really hopes that made sense
