I cant see any of my previously saved notes, nor the buttons to create a new note. This haas been going on for a while but I havent petitioned it because the Devs are so busy with other problems that are more important. At least they were more important. Now that I am trying to run my first corp, I desperately need notes. I work around this by evemailing the info I would normally put in a note to my alt and then having my alt send a blank reply evemail.
Anyone know of a fix for this?

Actually I got information, rename cache folder cache2 when eve is not running and then start eve that works for me. (I petitioned this yesterday or 2 days ago too and got answer)

This indeed does resolve the notepad issue, but creates a bigger one...all my addressbook folders are gone....over 400 people are no longer organized by what type of relationship I have with them....over 2K bookmarks are no longer organized by route, system, etc etc. This "fix" is TOTALLY unacceptable. I need to know which file I can switch out to fix the notebook without screwing up anything else.

naming cache to cache2 is effectivly making eve create a new cache folder and its contents, cache2 will still reside in your eve folder ofc, but isnt used.
When deleteing the files and folders inside your cache folder then you can delete everything but keep the settings folder and the prefs.ini file, this way your BM's , buddies etc will still have there orig orders.
Dunno if doing it like that will fix the notepad issue tho. |

Unfortunately, no. From the experimenting that I did, I have come to the conclusion that the same file affects both the notepad and the bookmark folders. Somehow I was able to get those two back up, but lost all my overview presets. This is much easier to "live with". The problem is, I did so much swapping of individual files between some unholy combination of the following folders, that I lost track of what I did and dont know which files affect which part of the GUI. Folders I used for swapping files: cache, cache2, settings, settings2, settings3, working folder1, working folder2. (I created the working folders to try to keep track of the swapping but i lost track anyway )

ok, thanx for the input guys it helped me to find out how to counturn it.
So the problem is infact in the "setting" folder. The file "user-xxxxx.dat" is the one which will make your notepad bug-out.
So the easiest way is to save your "setting" folder. Then erase it.
Lauch eve and log your main char. now exit eve.
Go in the "setting" folder and look what are the file that has been created.
Normally a file like that : "char_xxxxxx.dat" where xxx represent a number, just poped in the folder "setting". Now take your old file that you saved ("char_xxx" one) and replace it. Don't replace the "user_xxx" that had just been created or you will have your notepad bugged again.
Now lauch eve again and your notepad will be unbuged and all your bm/buddi folder will be here. all your note too.
Sorry for my bad english, i hope it will help some peeps.
