You've looked away to pick up a teacup and looked back to see the pod instead of your ship. Paid attention to your enemy's hp, instead of your own. accidentally blapped a friendly ship by mistake and got concorded. So lets see all share in each other's misery. Mine was my very first cruiser. Everyone told me 'run drones and watch drone hp so they dont get blapped'. So I sat there and Watched my drone hp, and they were doing fine. Glance at my cap, and 'OH CRAP' just in time to get a notice saying 'we are sorry for the loss of your ship'. Thankfully (or unthankfully) I'm fairly new to the game, so I haven't had time to do some 'monumentous' moments, but i'm curious. WHAT have people done, that they are willing to share, either as a warning to others, or, just to get a laugh?

I used a Helios for probing and then had an Iteron at a POS to restock me with probes. These probes are enormous so you have to restock constantly. Then after a few days of probing friendly space I became impatient of having to restock all the time. Especially since it was friendly space and there had not been any enemies in the region for weeks. So I mounted the probe launcher on the Iteron and just did the probing that way since it could hold a ton of probes. Then about an hour later the whole ship is blown to smithereens by friendly POS weapons that had been wrongfully programmed. 700 million isk worth of equipment, vaporized. Since it was a mercenary job it was all out of my own pocket too. The Battle of Wizna. Like the movie 300 but with worse odds and the Germans as the attackers.

So it had been about an hour and we hadn't killed anything yet. We were getting frustrated with having nothing to kill. So I was moving my scout into a new system and spotted a Retriever on scan.. couldn't believe my luck and just my luck suddenly got even better... He was at the first belt I scanned. The scout didn't have point, he was just warp in. So I got the fleet to jump in and warped straight to him, all 8 or so of us. When we arrived we got a point on him, killed him, and were celebrating and laughing on TS. Suddenly one of us said "What the **** is that?!". I looked up to my screen and realised CONCORD had arrived to deal out justice on us... "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice."

I didn't realize the rats in there could actually, y'know... hurt me, and I got distracted by a TV show while my codebreaker (analyzer? I forget which) cycled. When I looked back, I was in structure and scrammed.

Got lost in the simplicity of this process and 'reselected all' promptly turning everything in my corp hangar, all fittings, ammo, everything into Ore, Reason and logic never wins over Stubborn and Convinced-á (But-áI still try..)

Anyway I managed to lose my first BS in my first Lvl4 (a Megathron who got scrambled with an awful 2-months-old-noob fit). I almost quit at that point. I also lost my first Navy Apocalypse in my first mission with it -and then a buddy almost lost his Golem coming to finish the mission and rescue my remnants, as I forgot to tell him that i was in Gallente space and he noticed that at the first jumpgate when the Navy opened fire on him... I also lost a miner BS b/c of drone aggro on a canflipper (or that was what a GM told me after several petitions and a GM-requested escalation). The Greater Fool Bar is now open for business, 24/7. Come and have drinks and fun somewhere between RL and New Eden!

First was a guy claiming to be selling a Vindicator for under market price, and would trade with whoever wanted to buy. Me being tired, and thinking I could make a quick profit by reselling it, put up the 1.3 bill he was asking, and unknowingly received a brand spanking new Megathron Navy instead. 5 minutes later I fell for one of the "selling some old mission stuff" scam, which was including a Ferox, a 5% implant, some tags, ammo, and an officer shield mod which the seller was using a margin scam to get my attention with.

I just sat there gob-smacked as I got snipered never moved, a typical rabbit in the headlights moment. Never occurred to me to warp off, or go back to the gate. One CNR later the pirate couldn't understand why I hadn't moved and I was just "but how can he hit me from out there??" - then I learned some more about the game and different ships. Oh and another oops and this has literally just happened, I'm taking a pos down cos I fancy a change of scenery and was taking down the ammo arrays and remembered a little too late that I should have left one of them up for a few days as there were 15k T2 scourge ham's cooking - oopsy. If I'd just offlined it it would be ok, but I'd unanchored and scooped the array before I remembered.

I still recruited the guy though he's now the top-1 killer of my corporation, so it was worth the loss of a Faction frigate by far!

Found it with my cruiser w/ probes. Reshipped to frigate. Entered and forgot to bookmark exit. Ok. Left the ship and self-destructed pod. Took my cruiser and entered WH again. Found my frigate and parked cruiser next to it. Started to scan WH.... It was so interesting.... Few minutes after both of my ships and pod were killed by some gang right there

While I have yet to get any PvP kills (it hasn't really been a subject of my efforts yet) a wardec with another corp saw me acting as a gate scout. I warped to a safe spot on rid near a gate but over 150km away in my Succubus where we thought the enemy would be, and lo, there they were, seven of them, so in a moment of panic seeing so many of them, I warped out as quickly as I could. But my corp wanted me to get ship types, so back I went, and got a screenshot of my overview, then warped out again. I reported all enemy ships, and the FC told our cruiser fleet to warp in and nab 'em. I decided to go through the gate, but instead of warp to zero, I warped back to my safe near the gate... where all seven enemy frigates were waiting for me and scrammed me before I could blink. Unfortunately, I hesitated... I was still trying to warp away when they started shooting me. I should not have hesitated, cuz I might have got the kill otherwise. I targeted the closest five and started laying into the Ares that was scramming me. All seven ships were hitting me, but my shield tank held... just long enough for me to strip most of the Ares hull, before I was 'sploded by a Fed Navy Comet with rails. It was not a cheap loss, but we live and learn, and I don't care enough about isk for the value of the loss to matter that much. The rest of my corp arrived a few moments before I 'sploded, alerted by a member who had arrived a little early and seen them lay into me. They bolted when our Dominix showed up, but the corp managed to kill a Daredevil (I think it was a Daredevil, can't remember atm, but I know it was one of their faction ships, so it was a faction loss for a faction loss). Probably my biggest woops and so far, best moment ever simultaneously. 7v1 and I ALMOST got a kill You don't scare me. I've been to Jita.

It was set to "activate on voice". According to my then corpmates, my microphone is REALLY clear... BONUS STORY! Said partner was in an EVE playing phase for awhile. Went purely miner/industrial. I was all yarr pirate. We'd made it house rules to not even know each others char names, to avoid arguments. Scanned down a nice big mining op in lowsec. Gathered up my corpies, jumped over, had a merry old time decimating mining fleet. In the other room, I hear a keyboard slam on the floor and a string of curses. "Hey what's wrong babe?" "Some stupid MFin ******* **** ********* pirates just ganked my hulk!" 315 4 CSM8!

My favorite is: Bought a Anathema kitted it all out with sister stuff thinking to myself I shall bag a couple of ratters doing low sec missions. What can go wrong I thought to myself! Anyway dropped my probes off scan and warped myself to a safe and started to probe. Noticed someone was doing the same thing as me so carried on. All the time thinking to myself some poor rube is going to get it in a couple of minutes "muawahhhahah" Got tunnel vision looking at the scan screen and 2 mins later I looked at a mail that had just arrived " We are saddened by your loss of your ship..." I was like "WTF??" then I realised although I had warped to the safe I hadn't actually cloaked. Karma is a ***** as they say.. God Said "Come Forth and receive eternal life!" I came fifth and won a toaster.

Having a Dessie after a week of playing was BIG back in those days. Well i undocked and seen this guy in space in a Megathron. He was shown yellow and had black skull on overview. He must be a BAD GUY! I fired my gunz... 2) After like 3 months in EVE i put ALL my salvage and expensive loot i gained up until then into a hauler and set autopilot to Jita. I was in HI-Sec! What could have possibly gone wrong? Needless to say my loot was unvoulentarily unloaded in Sivala with help of local Brutix.

FC commanded us not to agress and jump the gate into hisec, guy in a Paladin didn't catch the 'don't agress' bit. Bye bye 1 billion (at the time) Isk ship. Some CONCORD Captain must have been bragging to the entire officer's mess about his killmail that night.

I was in love with the Ferox (the baddest looking ship around) and I wanted one. Could not afford one until some nice lady was doing a "free isk give away" (think it was in the danish channel). Manage to get a whole 50 mill isk - the most I had ever owned. Bought my first Ferox, fitted it the best I could with rigs and heavy missiles (hadn't trained any gunnery skill at the time and didn't understand heck of how to fit a ship anyway) and was very proud with my new toy. After bragging on TS about it, someone ask if i wanted to do a mission with him and I gladly said yes. Went into the mission room where he was calling targets. When i saw the target call in the overview, I moved my mouse over it so i could luck the target. Pressed F1 and got a weird massage on screen, saying: do you want to proceed with this dangerous action?. I was like ??? Hmm... Much be something to do with the mission so I clicked "Yes". For some reason Concord don't like players shooting other players wrecks. To this day I still don't understand why not. Anyway, I loved every 15 minutes I had it. Should have learned from the bad omen, but in the next 4 - 5 month I lost 3 other Ferox's in ways, just as stupid. After that i bought a Drake. Still love the Ferox though and after this new BC changes I might just give it another chance one day but... In the first days of playing Eve, I warped to a gate only to land right next to the biggest and badass looking ship i had ever seen. As it was slowly flying toward the gate it looked so impressive with all its small windows and blinking lights. For some reason i had a desire to shoot at it but something held me back. It was so big compared to my little frigate that I just knew i wouldn't stand a chance. That thing would melt everything in the game. "One day I'll be flying one of those" I said to myself. I marveled at its fitting name. It was called an Obelisk.

Fitting my Hulk with T2 cargo rigs only to have CCP completely overhaul the way mining barges carry ore. 265 million ISK down the toilet. Training up for Heavy Assault Cruisers.....as Caldari. Opening a trade in Jita Taking EVE online too seriously.
