I have been destroyed (Along with lots of very good cargo) twice now by concord when shooting cans.
Now i dont know about anyone else but when you have 30 cans on your screen, you dont always want to collect every single one. Personally i scan em with a cargo scanner to see whats worth treking to collect. If its worthless i destroy it so i dont end up flying 20k for 100 s iron charges ;p
Now heres where the problem arises. Player cans......they look the same as a cargo can, they are named the same and the only way to tell the difference is to show info. Once again, when you have 30 cans on the overview you dont really want to have to show info on every one to check whats what (Not to mention the extra time it takes to do this, which is bad if your sat in a spawn area and you have enemies coming at you every 5 seconds, or mayby in a low sec area where you rick getting fubar by some unruly player pirate)
Ok so far its pretty annoying, but heres where it gets unfair not just annoying. THERE IS NO WARNING DIALOG WHEN YOU TRY AND SHOOT PLAYER CANS!!!!!!!
So, unless you spend 40 mins checking each cans before you have no way to tell your about to be shot to ****.
Dunno about yall but this comes across as extremly unfair and has cost me more than i care to let slide now (After loosing an Uber caracal and a top kitted ferox plus almost 2 full cargo holds of GOOD/GREAT equipment).
So what does everyone else think of this?

if you shoot cans that have a TAG BEHIND THEM AS IN A CORP TAG WHEN U MOUSE OVER THEM (OMG u n00b) then u deserve to get shot podded riped to 4 and hanged ;) ---------------------------------------- |

I think you should stop shooting cans.
Those 100 Small charges might be nothing to you and me but a n00b would jump at a chance to have some free ammo.
If this is not the 1st time shooting cans has got you destroyed, why do you carry on shooting cans?
Is 20km really that far away? Afterburners do come in handy sometimes.

Edit your overview settings to display the corp tag then you can see at a glance which cans are player owned and which arn't.

Use a MWD to run up to the cans. This way, you won't bounce 2K away from the can; the MWD bounces about 1K from the can and returns and you fly rapidly from can to can. Melt the junk for mins and stockpile them.
I use an Indy with a MWD and Overdrives to collect loot, especially from L4 missions that leave LOTS of cans. =)
BM the positions and finish the mission with the Agent and you can return to the FORMER Deadspace positions and MWD from can to can. Works great! =D

1) Corp tags showing on cans, yes i am a n00b, i didnt know this, will look into that
2) Speed - Both times ive been in deadspace so MWD is no good, Both times ive been in big slow ships even with an a/b i still only get 300 odd m/s, so yes 20km IS pretty far!
3) Leaving Stuff Behind - Pointless, its a mission, other players wont be able to pick up my cans and this doesnt solve the solution of having 30 cans on the overview and not knowing which are which
But either way, all this aside, there SHOULD be a warning before you shoot ANYTHING that will get u killed by concord, weather it bee a great big station or a little player can. Anything other than that is just not fair to n00bs

there IS a warning... most likly youv already turned it off... it applys to more than just cans though, its one alrge warning... buildings, players, all kinds of crap...
you ignored the warning, and payed the price
(btw.. what the hell is the can of a player doing in yr agent mission location.... OR why the hell are you hunting .5-1.0 rats with a BS?)

K dude i already said i tested the dialog and it is still active.
And i dont know why a player can was in my mission, this is my point there shouldnt have been a player can there, in fact there wasnt but the game picked it up as one.
Finally a ferox is a battlecruiser not a battleship
