As you may or may not be aware, like so many things, not only do people like playing MMORPG's but there is a smallish (but vibrant) collection of people who like to write about them too. Although not a pundit by any stretch of the imagination, I do spent some time reading such.
What's most interesting, is that many (? most?) of these wags are more than aware of Eve Online, they are continually agog and amazed that it time and again Defies The Conventional Wisdom. A recent gob of punditry is about Eve Online specifically The Cesspit comparing it quite favorably to WoW, DAoC, AO and ShadowBane. Do take a peek!

It's not surprising the game's on some peoples' radars. And I know I'm a bit biased to say that given that I'm a long-time player, but to be honest there's a lot about EVE that is totally unique in the genre. I could list them here, but at this point in writing I've only got 3700 characters remaining in my reply. And I hate starting things and not finishing them.

It's nice to see EVE getting the positive recognition it deserves after such a bad launch.
Even if it has taken a little more time that it should've.

Well, at launch the game wasn't much to laud, really.  Only in the past year or so (if that) has EVE started to really earn it's laurels.
