Just i have heard that someone did it, in ship channel
Is it possible, i find it hard to believe

If there is a comos miner then I bet its possible. _________________________________________________ Nominate famous people in Eve who had an impact on you. |

Just been doing the maths.
Cormorant, base CPU: 215 With Electronics 5: 268.75 Add a CPU II in the low slot: 295.625
This would certainly be enough to hold 6 XECL Beams, but I can't find any way of squeezing a seventh in, as unfortunately Electronic Upgrades does not affect the CPU usage of mining lasers.

It's possible, but not with the cormorant. The key here is you want officer CPU mods, and a Coercer (most low slots).
Coercer Base:160 ElecV:200
Need for 7 XeCl: 336
% gain needed from 4 co-pros: 68% so each co-pro needs to be 17% or better. So you'd need 4 Thons, Vepas or Estamels co-pros to do it, which is likely to make the paper-thin destroyer a suicide attack magnet.
Beware those beyond here, for they cannot see evil. |

Especially since it can mount 3 Miner IIs without issue, which can match those 7 XECLs without much trouble.
7 XECLs with Mining 4: 47x1.2x7=398.4m3 per cycle
3 Miner2s with Mining 4 and Cald Cruiser 3: 60x(1.2+1.6)x3=324m3 per cycle.
I picked Cruiser 3 since it doesn't take too long to train for it. Also remember that a Coercer only has 300-odd units of cargo space, it couldn't actually hold as much ore as 7 XECLs bring in at once. -------------- What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?

Trick to deal with the small cargo space (assuming you have a can handy, whether it be secure or jet), is you start the cylces staggered so that you can shift the ore out as it comes in before enough cycles finish to stop things.
The scary thing is that looks like the idea is mildly useful for if a non-miner wants to contribute on a mining op. If they are optimized for combat they will have worked on the appropriate skills (or would benefit from working on them anyway). No need to train up mining skills to get a decent output, though not as good an output as the dedicated mining people will have.
