Hi,
Just wondering, aside from helping out with petitions, irc mod and forum mod, how else do polaris help out?
I heard that they will be helping out with events. How would this work? Would they be able to take control of an NPC characters ship for example in order to roleplay out an encounter?
If so, that IMHO would greatly enhance the game and the immersion of future events.
I'm intrested in knowing how polaris will help with events, what will they be able to do and not do to give players a better RPing experience?

Polaris members are often seen on the chaos server testing the new patches.

There's different levels of Polaris members. Some are forum mods, irc mods, some greet new players and hang out in the HELP channel, some answer petitions.
There's other ones too which are called "Actors". They are also part of Polaris but with a different team. You can choose what you want to apply for by clicking the POLARIS button on the left under PLAYER WEBSITE.

Out of intrest how does polaris run an event. I know they've run test events on chaos now, but I've never made it to one.
Do they appear in there polaris ships? Or can they appear in NPC ships to add an additional depth to the encounter?

The BSC has already been involved in an event on the Live server, and we can indeed confirm that the actors will turn up in ships appropriate to the characters that they play.
You might like to pop by the events forum, as some of the stickies in there are regarding events current being played out on Tranquility
