Anyone try two accounts on dial-up before? If so, what were the results?
I've done two characters on Everquest before with dial-up and only one monitor (Which is by far the biggest resource hog I've yet to see), but I'd like to make an alt for hauling stuff around and various other non-combat roles.. anyone seen it work?
I suppose I can always do a free trial second account until I can confirm whether or not it works... but I figured I'd ask to see if that would be pointless first.
No broadband available until 2007, so suggestions to get it are fruitless and a waste of time. Suggestions to move however, are expected and understandable =).

well I use 2 accounts on 1 Computer on Broadband and it lags Horrifically.
I've also Tried it at work on dial-up with 2 Accounts I didn't dare undock though Because it was extremely Choppy instation. |

that lag is nothing to do with your connection it will be PC mate i run 3 accounts when im mining and it runs fine, as for the question about 2 accounts on dial-up well MAYBE it might be ok if you arnt fighting but i very much doubt it buddy

Well.. if you have a Dual Opteron, Xeon or perhaps a Dualcore Athlon X2 it shouldn't be a problem at all.
It will naturally lag alot due to your modem, but it should work.

First time i tried eve i was on 128k ISDN.. and it scared me to death it lagged so BADLY :(
now ive got ADSL its smoooth!
I wouldnt try ONE account on DU let alone 2 lol... then again.. freelancer handled 2 instances of game on the one dialup (best we got was 5 games running at once on the one connection.. lagfest though..)

cable connection, 1 gig ram and not the fastest cpu ever but keeping the computer as free as possible of progs running in the background and i have 5 accounts actively guarding, mining and hauling at the same time. very smooth until i toggle the sound on any of the account screens....imho...a bug in the eve programs' handling of audio. I isolated to thier end after months of testing everything on my end. any of you experiencing lag.....try turning the sound option off. I'm one of many who have come to the same conclusion.
