Tamiya Sarossa Hedion University Amarr Empire 23	Posted - 2011.10.14 17:42:00 - [2] - Quote Like all drones, if set to aggressive sentry drones will automatically engage targets that begin to aggress your ship, and once they do that, they will continue to shoot at targets aggressing you until they're all dead. At least that's the theory, drone AI is often wonky. But if you're trying to AFK missions then yes it is perfectly possible to set your drones on a target and go take a nap - make sure that you've triggered all spawns beforehand though and have full room aggro so they don't die, and keep in mind that heavies are often better than sentries for this because sentries can get hung up on frigates they can't track etc. while heavies will eventually kill everything in the room, one way or another.

This will cause currently active drones to attack the next thing that red-boxes (performs an agresssive action at) you. Be careful if you're using this in PvP, as having drones actively engaging a target counts as aggression and will stop you from redocking. I lost a ship to this once. Here is the scenario I envision: Some guy in a T1 frigate fires at my ship/drones My drones fire back(will they?) at him before he gets concorded. As my drones fired at him, he now has an aggro timer against me (?) (His corp wont have an aggro timer against me, right?) He docks, gets in a gank BC, and comes back to kill me. This is what I fear will happen if I AFK mission in an expensive drone boat. Is it unfounded, or plausible?

Otherwise they will use Drone AI to pick targets they perceive as more important on their own. Note that their idea of 'more important' may be different than yours. But yeah, as long as you have them set to 'focus fire' and 'aggressive' in your drone settings they will fire on baddies shooting at you on their own. (Provided you know its a mission where the drones won't trigger waves more than you can handle) This 15 min GCC - it doesn't mean concord is going to gank them again does it? Just that other players can without Concord intervention? If thats the case, and they made an undock safe, they could probably get back to me and gank me without the GCC preventing them. If concord will attack them if they undock for the next 15 min, in addition to allowing players to target him, then then that is another story. I don't think a Domi is sufficient to attract a ganker attention. A Rattlesnake on the other hand... I'm not worried about tanking the mission, I'm worried about getting ganked. I'm not so sure I want to AFK a ship as expensive as that.

More like your pack of Ogres will chase after the Dramiel over 60km away, burning off gate. Leaving drone to their own devices is a lot likegoing AFK while you have a game of The Sims running.
