How does ISK enter the game/economy. I'm guessing that it's via npcs but I could be wrong, if so then how does CCP control for inflation?

NPC gives liquid ISK bounties and rewards, from buying trade goods and reselling them down to Mission running and ratting in lowsec, the list is long...
There are allot of ISK sinks in the game, from Market taxes down to NPC goods trade goods.
CCP manages inflation and deflation, they have a very good team over there watching everything like a Hawk :praise: |

ISK wakes up every morning at his room in the Arctic Comfort Hotel in Reykjav+¡k and has a light breakfast in the coffee shop. Ready to face the day, he gets a A+¦alst+¦+¦in-BSH taxi over to CCP HQ.
After having another coffee with some of the Devs he makes his way through a small doorway in the back of a second floor janitorial closet and is deposited directly into the market in Jita 4-4.

I-¦m not saying they dont, but seeing the crazy infaltion that took place in the last cple of years they havent done a very good Job. However they increased prices for BPO`s and Skillbooks to fight inflation. Power of two is probably also meant to decrease the infation rate shar'ra phone home |

Eh... by my calculations, plex account for about 20% of the total transaction and broker fees daily.
We're talking about 25 billion isk in transaction taxes and broker fees every day from just plex. |

Not only is PvP not an ISK sink, it actually drives an ISK source: insurance payouts. PvP causes material to be destroyed (directly) and ISK to be created (indirectly via insurance).

i think is very clear where does it come from, whats more interesting is where does it go.
i guess the number one sink must be SOV bills (all of SOV claimed), second sink must be corporate offices, and a far third sales tax, with NPC corp tax as fourth.
my point is that the biggest sinks are on organizations rather than on individuals, if there's so much inflation the best way to fight it would be taxing individuals more. and by inflation lets not draw parallels to irl inflation... unlike on eve in real life currency doesn't grow in trees.
now, raising sales tax is a bad idea, or at least one that will **** off far more people than another hike on NPC tax...
shall we now turn this into yet another "nerf highsec" thread? |

Isk sinks are good, they make remaining isk worth more.

I think Planentary interactions is also a big ISK sink. Some of it could be counted as tax.
1. When you use NPC custom office in high sec the tax is 10% for export 2. When you build a new Planentary station it will eat like 5 - 20m ISK depending on your skills and the PI setup
Tax in gerneral will be one of the biggest isk sinks in eve. |
