Ok, so I'm in Jita. Spirits for sale at 500ISK. A buyer in Perimeter will buy for 525ISK. Easy money, right ? Except nowhere in EVE does it say this is contraband. Now EVE won't let me sell it to the buyer because it's illegal in the station ! So how the hell can contraband be posted for sale/buy if it's illegal ?!?
If you check the web site outside the game it says spirits are contraband in several empires. Ok, but Perimeter is Caldari space, where it is NOT contraband. So why can't I sell it ? Am I screwed ? This is ****ed. My entire working capital is now gone.

Right click, show info, legality.
The destination station with the order is owned by the amarr empire, where spirits are illegal.
QED. Though the fact that the order exists in the first place is a bug 
But you should be able to find a buyer at a slightly lower price elsewhere.

I'm going to venture a guess that it a a Ducia Foundry station you are trying to sell to?
Unfortunatly for you, even though it is in a Caldari system and you can fly around with them, the station itself is part of the Amarr empire and subject to it's laws and restrictions. My advice would be to place a sell order at the station you bought them at a price of 499.99, take a small loss and let someone else who wants em buy from you as it is cheaper than the npc cost.

Sell it to one of the stations that's not a Dulc(somthing) Foundry. I think there's at least 2 of them in the Forge Region. You might have to take a slight hit though.
My recommendation is bite the bullet, take the loss, and move on.

Thanks for all the tips. I managed to unload it for a small loss. I also learned a whole lot more about the EVE interface and what you can find ! Thanks again. I'm solvent once more.

I just got bit by the exact same thing, to the tune of 20Mil worth of spirits. Why on Earth is there a buy order at a station I cannot sell the goods in? I legged it across several low sec systems dodging pirates to get here and now I can't even sell for the profit I've damn well earned (20 Mil is a substantial part of my capital and I was sure I was toast at one point).
I would just shrug and move on but it took enough to even get here without risking it all again going back through those systems with a valuable cargo.

I think we need to start a group petition on this topic, or get some sort of official answer out of CCP because it's just plain wrong.
Buy order at a place that refuses to buy it!
I've tried it with black market trading skilled character. I've got 1.68 standings to Ducia Foundry.
Still doesn't work.
Do I need perfect standings with them?
At least if we get some sort of offical answer, even if it doesn't answer our questions exactly, it might help. Because right now it just makes no sense.

been trying to get into eve for a while. unfortunatly both times i've bothered to make a trial account(this being one, the other almost a year ago) i did what the OP did.
i just remember quitting pretty quick the first time i started the trial and only remembered exactly why when i bought spirits again this time around.
seems to be a few ways in this game to completely ruin a newbie's expierence. maybe in a year when i get the urge again i'll remember not to do this again. oh well |
