I have an idea.
Hire more GMs so you don't have to wait a week for a reply from a petition.
I got a 1month GTC reward for a buddy account that got activated. I forgot that you have to enable "auto redeem" on the rewards and it just sat there and my account expired.
No problem, goto account management and use hour for plex to get it back online without having to pester CCP.
Apparently not, since it has been disabled on my account (which has not lapsed since I started paying monthly for it 2 years ago. Guess it's petition time after all, ask for my account to get hours for plex enabled but apparently using this to claim the said buddy reward would be a violation of terms of use. Therefore I'm not allowed to have Hours for Plex enabled.
So I curse CCP as usual and the next day reply asking for hours for plex to be enabled so I can just buy a plex (I'm not short on ISK but why buy a plex when I have a month reward that I've earned waiting to be used). The GM comes back again and basically says he thinks I'm going to use it to activate my buddy reward and not buy a plex, and therefore he cannot enable it for me.
I asked for the petition to be escalated so I could discuss these sketchy replies, and submitted another petition to request HFP explicitly stating I would use it to purchase a PLEX. I received a quick response telling me that the petition would be closed and to use my 1st petition.
So my account is still inactive and I will not pay money for this game whilst CCP (through the intermediary of the GMs) deliver customer service like this.
I discussed this situation with a couple of m8s and one of them told me a GM reactivated their account for them with a buddy reward. Why is the service SO different depending who picks up your petition. There is literally no quality control, and if there is it needs fixing. |

And the hilarious thing is, to discuss this with someone at actual CCP, I have to open a petition. |

So basically you want more GMs so you can cycle through them till you get the answer you like....Correct? |

Also... this is not a feature for the game and could be considered a form of ranting. Tread carefully. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

i support this completely. i chewed out CCP's GMs in my presentation last fanfest. How helpful the GMs are is completely up to who you get I have submitted identical petitions from 2 different accounts to prove a bet to a corpmate. In which i reported a exploit/bug we found at our POS which s in a wormhole.
For anyone who has done WHs you know that CCP auto-parses petitions and upon seeing the word "POS they reply working as intended, or "wormhole" they tell yo they cant explain WH mass mechanics.
One petition was responded in 5 days with exactly that, working as intended, thank you for your time, closing your petition. The other was responded to in 7, in which he inquired how to replicate the situation, and i eventually got a plex for finding a pretty severe bug.
had i only sent in the first one, i would've gotten no where and said exploit would still exist. the variance in GM quality is ridiculous.
Quality is more important, but a week is also a tad long for a response, especially given many times the first response is useless. Get more better trained GMs please. and for the love of god make them all on the same page/. |

Except GM's (unlike ISD if i recall), require salaries.
salaries that have to come from somewhere.
salaries that will come from DEV salaries, or production investments. |

Whether they are paid or not, they are in-game ambassadors for CCP.
I put this thread in here because I didn't see where else it could go, I was looking for a feedback thread, but there is only one for the test server.
Please no-one take this as a GM bashing thread. I have had some issues cleared up nice and quickly by GMs and I'm sure the times where there have been issues it's just been a mis-communication with no malice intended.
However it does not feel like that sometimes, and whilst this might be our (the playbase's) fault for submitting petitions for random things (confirming I do not do this, but I am part of the playerbase) that GMs have to read each petition really fast and maybe they read a few key words in my latest one and just went with what they thought it was about. I don't know and I wasn't there.
The frustrating thing is all I want is my links character back online, and I know it's just a click of a button for someone with that access. But getting in touch with that person is proving painful. |
