I usually don't make it a habit to snapshot my vehicle every time I drive down my driveway after it rains. I can however show you how to get the best parking space at work. |

A decade ago I almost had my hands on a '78. The guy only wanted the alternator out of it for his '77. We stuck 2 13's up front and some 15's from my pickup in the back all on steely rims and it remained level because somebody did a ****** low rider mod to it. Because of the mod it had no muffler so it was louder than ****. The high point was that it had this blue to green fade paint scheme with metallic which made it really impressive to look at. The low point was that it had no interior. My driver seat was 2 spare tires and the passenger seat was a milk crate. Had plans to turn it into a street rod but he never actually got around to giving me the title. I'd probably still be driving it around today if he had, and I would definitely challenge my buddies Monte Carlo. |

Neither of them had a supercharged V8 though. Please support: export of settings in editable format

I'm pretty sure the whole Landrover being unreliable is mostly due to the Range Rover. Those Disco's are pretty reliable. |

I find it kind of ironic how Jeep and Landrover. The two giants of the SUV industry have spent the last decade competing over who can top the "least reliable" charts
Meanwhile the Japanese are taking home the reliability prices. We miss you Saede. |

How about Warranty Direct. The people who sign the cheeks every time something breaks. Who apparently have been doing a lot of signing over those two.
If it's any relief the Freelander did pretty good but that's the Fem model so you don't get to drive that one. We miss you Saede. |

the only thing that scares me about landrovers is their negative pressure cooling system.
the motor uses suction to move coolant through the block at certain points, and if you have a leak, rather than leak out, the coolant will stop flowing.
single point of failure, zero warning brick condition...
tl;dr: the coolant system sucks http://themittani.com/ | http://evenews24.com/ |

Land Rovers are notorious for a lot of issues unfortunately but they always have been. That's just British engineering for you. 2 months after I bought mine the transmission went out. When I had that replaced they also replaced a pump and something else that I can't think of off the top of my head. I've also had to recently replace my hoses and thermostat, and next on my list is the master cylinder. On top of that my rings are all blown and I've got the 3 amigo's lit up on the dash board so there's a sensor.
That makes her a bad truck, but not a bad 4x4. I was under the impression here that people were referring to their off road capability to which I can name a dozen vehicles off the top of my head that can do worse, many of which I've had to pull out of stuck areas.
As for that article above
1. I wouldn't put much stock in msn articles. If you read them, I mean truly read them, you'll notice that their money saving techniques many times will cost you more, their advice for handling an interview is not actually advisable to use, and their worse vehicle will show up on good list and good list will show up on bad as they cycle through the same set of cars based on who wants to advertise their wares.
2. Learn your make and models. #1 is the Land Rover Range Rover, which is not the same thing. There's also the Cherokee on that list but I don't care about those, I don't consider them actual jeeps like the CJ5, Sahara, or Unlimited. |
