Occator = 5k3 w/ 6 lo-slots
Impel = 4k3 w/ 7 lo-slots
With best cargo mods, what would be better? Impel or Occator? _-_
Best Idea Ever!! http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=204497&page=1 |

Well the Impel is probaply the slowest ship in the game if you slap it full of cargo expanders, so while it does have more cargo, for all practical purposes the Occator is still better.

Yep a whole 15ms top speed packed with expanders, when insta's are removed the Impel will become redundant for empire use. ___________________________________________ http://www.eve-tutor.com

If instas are removed without some alternative method of being able to warp directly to gate, then damn' near every ship in the game will become redundant for anywhere use.
You think you've seen people whinge and complain before now? You ain't seen nothing yet

Good. I'd put up with the moaning - a fair price to pay for a better game. ______________________________________________

It won't BE a better game. People do not enjoy taking ages to get around the place. They barely are prepared to put up with warp times.

I have patience. Patience is a powerful tool and sometimes a weapon. I wasn't born with patience but learned it over long years.
However I do wonder about the younger players. When and if instas are removed they are not going to take this well. Some may even leave.

Agreed ....I am fully on the no-nerf to insta's bandwagon. If they need a nerf, give us another way to move quickly and jump to a gate. I play for 1 1/2 hrs / day (due to real-life, jobs etc) and like most who are only able to play for short periods, removing insta's would completely remove any fun to be had. It would posssibly result in a true Exodus away from the game - not everyone can play for 12hrs a stretch (and yes, I played Beta and remember it well). Most people who want them to stay just want easier ganks.
To keep on topic - Occator is better for the reasons mentioned above :)

Occ is a better ship and faster so even without instas and with a mwd II you could face life just about :)

If u check out the Item Database the Occutor appears to not be in game no more. Theres a new ship based on a Sigil there in its place.
I dont remember seeing that in patch notes.

That would be because the Occator is Gallente...

I'm Occator pilot and let me give you some tips.
As usual it all depends of where you are located and what systems you want to fly your T2 hauler.
If you want to haul just in secured space then, cargo expanders would be a must (I reckon). However the outcome speed (slow), it can be mitigated by using BMs, 10MN MWD or 10MN Afterburners.
Occator with full equiped with part-hulls can carry around 22k m3 (it beats for few bits the Iteron 5 with similar cargo expanders)
I must say that I fited my Occator once and while ago just to see. But I never used this ship with that setup otherwise would be a very expensive ship easilly do be destroyed at some gate.
Now, if you live in unsecured space then cargo expanders would be the least of your concerns. Practically you would not used them at all... low slots would ensure your haul's survival.
I often use my Occator without cargo expanders only some times I fit 1 cargo expander. I prefer to reach my destination with a ship and its cargo rather than lose everything on the way... so for me standard cargo hold was essential.

Who says we need idiots like that playing Eve? People who can't play a game with a few minuites of downtime now and then should keep their hands of MMORPGs to begin with.
Plus it's just not like there aren't MWDs and speed fittings to shorten traveltimes. Hey, that ties right back in with the entire hauling debate, the Occator is also better when fit with Nanofibers for fast AFK hauling.
