Lets make it so a warp scrambled target can't jump out or dock
The point of warp scramblers is to prevent people from running, but many people exploit the jump gate system by sitting right on top of the gate and jumping out if someone scary shows up. People could still jump out if they got stabs or if they do it before target lock is obtained. So this new feature wouldn't be overpowering. Just a small step in right direction - bringing more accountability into PvP

Pretty obvious answers:
Gate: Aggro timer (you just aggressed on target and can't jump for 1min, pretty standard tactict when running away)
Station: Emmmmmm.
Your Heavy Neutron Blaster II perfectly strikes Serpentis Chief Sentinel, wrecking for 660.4 damage.

I don't see a problem how it is. If your going to change that, force interceptors to actually *risk* getting into web range if they want to hold someone indefinitly. That or make light drones a useful defence...

silly idea man, it is a tactical judgement call weather you aggro or not, and as the first reply states, you can always catch em on the other side.

I agree, why the hell aggro them if you suspect they will run, better to rush to the gate to try and scram em as they uncloak for warp on the other side and pray its not a trap.

Entry points to 0.0 come to mind. Lamers are jumping back to the safety of Empire way too easily, IMHO.
When you agress someone, you should have a 'criminal' flag just like when you commit agression in Empire, so you can't hide in Empire after engaging in 0.0

Bluh, lets get rid of gates and get new system. Maybe we ever might see some game system then, that will allow in the future REAL pvp, instead of dumb gate campers, that think, they are pvp-ers.

Or just have a system like FL said, If you get enough points of scramble on someone to stop them warping, also make it prevent then jumping from a 0.0 system to empire.

Edited by: LUKEC on 25/08/2005 11:49:47 Jump scrambler would be nice.
Omg so those warp core stab wh@res would have to fit 8 stabs.
4x WCS, 4x JCS.
Wouldn't it be nice: Notify: xxx started to jump scramble yyyy

Considering how easy it is to avoid combat and ship loss in general, why would you want to keep it this easy? Lets make things a little harder, raise the stakes a bit.
Here's a scenario: You sit on the gate, someone bigger than you shows up. He doesn't engage cause he knows you'll jump out. So you both sit together for a few minutes, asking your friends whether they'd be willing to show up here break the stale mate.
Lets say the other guy managed to convince a friend to come, so you know you better get out. You simply align for warp right on the gate. If he chooses to scamble you, you jump. If he doesn't do anything, you warp off. Easy
