Okay, gate aggro timers are to keep wussies from firing one shot then jumping when they realize they picked the wrong target. It's also so you can't gank then leave system but..... how about:
1.) if you engage a ship at a gate and the target jumps through the gate, you are permitted to follow? 2.) no aggro for conflict between warring parties except at station(aggro against aggressors but not those who return fire) 3.) keep aggro when docking at station for aggro initiators as it's a permanent safe haven(unlike the opposite side of a gate) 4.) Allow self defense(if I'm 5km from a station and a frig warp scrambles me and I know a fleet is on the way... why can't I defend myself and then dock? 5k is a long way when webbed in a crusier or BS)
Maybe not in empire but PLEASE.... I beg on my knees and kiss your feet, remove all aggro timers in non-empire. PVP and NWO DEMAND it. Who the heck is going to regulate gate travel in non-empire space for aggression for christs sake? PLEASE!

While I see your point, any such change would allow someone to sit and fight in dock/jump range and then auto-escape at the last second. Which is not cool. It would allow for some pretty cheap tactics.

At the moment the Aggro Time is used as a trap, U sit bait on a gate, Wait for someone to aggro it, then the guys on the other side Jump in.
Personally I dont think there needs to be an aggro timer at all on Gate jumping if your at war or in 0.0 |

Well that's kind of the point. If you wanna warp up to a gate and unload on someone and low and behold they survive to tackle you while thier fleet warps in, you deserve aggro. There shouldn't be any cheap shots other than sniping. But my point is if I warp in and unload and my target jumps through the gate, he was obviously sitting there as bait and as soon as he leaves system, all aggro should end and I should be able to chase him. This would also put a stop to enemy haulers getting away in low sec who like to sit at gates and stare thier enemy down for 10 minutes until you finally fire and they gate to safety. Not to mention theres about a 2km 0m distance around gates which gives you a chance to align and warp out or gate depending on what happens.
That brings up another point. The gate shouldn't have a 0m range around it. Once distance gets to 0m you should be touching the gate. Comments please. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ You sank my battleship! -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

think about the ppl who don't wanna fight, like haulers or miners.
you could gank them at every single gate, and if you couldn't kill it, go to the next, you're warping faster anyway....

The people who don't wanna fight, Shouldn't be jumping through with a Hostile in local unless they are prepared. Fitting Warp Stabs etc...
If they are in 0.0 They have to expect a Fight sooner or later.
I agree that currently the System works well to Stop people who have commited a crime Chasing after Their Prey, But if they are at War, There is no Crime, and if they are in 0.0 Theres No Soverign there to enforce it, So Theres not much point having the Aggro timer Against War Targets or in 0.0. |

Exactly right. Eve has never been about "I don't want to fight so i'm not going to." It's been about stay out of locations you aren't supposed to be in unless you are willing to accept the loss. You think non-empire carebears want a fight? No, but since they are out there they are asking for hostilities for making themselves easy targets and frankly since everyone uses instas this would help fix the insta jump chrisis. Yes...
