I am having a really annoying problem with the client. The games freezes for less then half a second constantly every 2 seconds.
Is this a know problem? Any workaround?

Atleast I haven't heard that it would be common problem with Eve client, but it does sounds like one other problem I'm aware of in Windows itself...
This is really simple test - well worth the extra seconds it takes :)
You could invoke taskmanager and leave it on while you play. Bring up "Performance" tab with CPU and Memory usage graphs. Once that tab is selected, go to View menu and select "Show Kernel Times". Also put update speed into high under the same View menu. Start Eve, play for awhile and when you start experiencing these every two second tiny freezes, exit Eve and look at the CPU graph.
Under the green line travels a red line, which shows how much of the CPU used was consumed by the operating system kernel itself (don't ask me for specifics, but I believe that any processing done in kernel level be it the OS or any of the drivers installed, are considered kernel time).
Now, if you have what I had once, you should see these small lag spikes in the CPU graph as red spikes where something in the kernel space has to either go into atomic execution (thus game freezes for a moment until that thread releases) or some kernel code forces the system to fiddle around with handles and/or memory allocation extensively which can cause operation which priority overrides user programs for several jiffies (as time slices are called in NT kernel, I believe). Whatever the details there, if you see such spikes, you *may* also have one or more crapy device drivers (or even hardware!) in your PC.
In my case this was resolved by removing a "fancy-brand" soundcard and uninstalling it's drivers, spikes and small freezes went away.
It's trial and error locating such thing, and then again there's nothing that says it would have to be similar problem I had...
All I can do is to tell you this my story and wish you luck finding the problem and getting more tips and suggestions.

Hi gardner, this wasn't my problem. Anyway the idea to keep the taskmanager opened and check for problems with it helped me to find the solution. EVE Character Manager was having spikes of CPU Usage. Closing it solved the problem, reponening it I have the problem again. Bha :)
Thanks for your help!

I get this every so often, and it continues when i close eve and is resolved when i restart. Also it stops for a brief period when i open and close the cd tray
I'm not a techie, so no idea what to do about it other than restart the machine.

Not sure, but I have had some luck getting it off when changing to 100 line limit for log rathern than that 10k, at least when the 10k log get's really high number of lines it feel's like it is slowing down things just like that.

ya i got exactly the same **** just with a few more secs, around 20. How can i find out what drivers i have to uninstall lol. Also it seems to me that at certain times the freezing isnt as bad as at some different time. Can it be caused by EVE as well then?

I had similar symptoms as the OP... for me it was more like a brief video freeze every 4 or 5 seconds. It didn't start with RMR. It started the 2nd day after RMR released.
I assumed it was related to the RAM use + disk cache swapping I'd seen increase post-RMR. Not sure, but it's still there as a periodic issue. Doesn't matter if I'm in Jita or in a system with 4 people in Local - it's there when it wants to be. I hope someone can help track it down though.

Three words...
AMD Duel Core?
There is a known problem with these processors and even better news! A fix is available! I'm looking for the previous thread to get the link to the Microsoft Fix as for some reason they haven't publically anounced its existance!?!
Await edit with linky for your gaming pleasure!

Thanks for suggestions.
I'm not the OP, but for me, I'm on a P4 2.4 so I can't apply fixes applicable to AMD CPUs. My system is logically partitioned already to seperate OS from data/apps/everything else. Swap file is on app drive though. I only allocated 8gb to XP. But it's RAID 0, so the partitions aren't on physically separate drives.
I've not deleted the /cache folder contents for a few days, but I have deleted it at least once since the issue cropped up (probably twice, possibly 3 times). This was after a full clean reinstallation of the EVE client specifically for RMR. But, worth another shot. Actually, I'll probably do a full clean reinstall again after the January 10 patch goes live anyway.
